Daniel Sorenson

I just hope the kid makes the roster. He's flashed some good stuff, seems to be around the ball a lot and well , he's 6'2" 208 and pretty fast for his size.

Talk has it Tyler Bray may go to IR. What's up with that ? I would rather just cut Murray and move on.

If a late round pick or UDFA is going to make the roster, he has to at least show a flash of some level of talent and competency in the actual games. Sorensen did the exact opposite, he just showed that the NFL was too big a game for him.
Hard to argue with this, after the PS games. Again, the decision-makers are either inept, or they put a lot more importance on the things ( practices/film room endeavors ) that we the outside fans can not see.

... or both.

Goddamn, you are ****ing dumb.

Rookie.

Pre-season.

You just don't ****ing get anything at all.

And for the umpteenthgazillionth time, your opinion on someone "flashing" or "showing" something in a pre-season game doesn't mean jack shit.

Apparently, while not to a supreme NFL talent evaluator like yourself, he showed more than whoever else that didn't make the roster. The coaches thought he showed enough to make the 53 man roster.

Again, Andy Reid and his coaching staff and the scouting department versus you.

You lose.

And I haven't seen anything that indicates he was a bad tackler until preseason snaps started. The guy has size that Kendrick Lewis didn't have so that's not the problem. It would be one thing if his college weaknesses are glaring right now.

One of his greatest strengths in college was football smarts and he's apparently a film room rat. That's the skill that's definitely going to take time. With the new CBA not giving these rookies any time to adjust to the NFL and Sorensen walking into an offense that is EXTREMELY difficult for a strong safety to learn, it's a tall order to expect any safety (let alone a rookie) to walk in and look great right away. I am sure that a lot of the problems people point out here come with confidence and that confidence will come as he learns this complicated defense.

Again, I have no idea what he will eventually bring. But let's be real about something... if we ever get to the point where Bronson had to start, we're screwed anyway. Does it really matter if it's Sorensen or Bronson at that point? So as much as we say we need the guy who's ready now, we should be more focused on a guy we think has more developmental potential. I do think that just on feel for the game, Sorensen will improve a lot. Whether that covers up his physical deficiencies remains to be seen but I doubt he's nearly as bad as he was this preseason.

Keep applauding the move and look forward to more plays like this.

Since you seem to enjoy seeing them so much. Sorensen will give you exactly what you wanted.

Oh really?

Since you apparently have no conceptualization of what the word "hypocritical" actually means and how it's applied to an individual, that kind of makes you a hypocrite, doesn't it dumbass?

I have not been shy about saying I think Daniel is complete shit and a huge waste of money, and that they gave out too many bad veteran contracts. Not giving the front office a hall pass by any stretch. At least they didn't cut any young QBs but yes, I don't like Daniel being on the roster.

Also not been shy in saying that our front office has been shaky in personnel calls. They're gambling on Sorensen, so I don't necessarily have a ton of confidence they made the right call.

But that's not the argument here. People are wanting to get rid of Sorensen because of preseason snaps and because a rookie isn't ready right now. That's a viewpoint I flat out disagree with.

What are you? 12? No grown man should ever use that many emoticons and "lol's" in a sentence.

And besides, at least Sorensen made the team. Where are you going to go watch your boy Bronson play on Sundays? So much for your kick ass talent evaluations, huh?

My boy Bronson? He was never my "boy" but he played a hell of a lot better in the games than Sorensen did, that's for damn sure. Won't matter where Bronson is when Sorensen is going to be giving up big play after big play and falling on his face when he tries to tackle Denver's receivers. The only thing that Sorensen will be good for is a good laugh on Sundays, he looks like a kicker trying to play safety out there.

I also love how the only thing that you can do to try to defend your guy is to go with personal attacks, cause you know damn well that he sucked in the games too.

I am sure that Bronson would fall on his face trying to tackle Denver receivers too. Let's not act like the Chiefs are giving up some kind of crown jewel. Bronson is a guy who has sat on a practice squad for a year and no other team has expressed interest.

And while Sorensen learns his craft, he'll probably be exceptional on special teams.

The truth is, no one looks good from these exchanges. You both end up looking petty and childish. I don't say that to be a sanctimonious prick... I have been just as guilty... but still the truth. Maybe the two of you can just leave well enough alone and allow this to dissipate?
