That's not what I said either. I don't think redskin for a team name is racist. That's where we differ. Their skin isn't even red--it's tawny. The name has origins in using red clay to paint their faces and/or from bloody scalps.

I notice how those claiming such never bother to look up the definition of racism. This way you can cast the widest net in charging others as being guilty of racism. It's about feeling your race is inherently superior to another. ( sure this can lead to denying "political" rights and other fundamental rights--things like slavery or a govt making them sit at the back of a bus.)

For me, naming a team after Indians suggests they were tough warriors. As far as cartoon mascots well, that's just how cartoons look....even if a white man or animal.
