What we see with Aries (I'm not wasting breath on Native or ThatGuy since they are killing brain cells in others by simply posting) is that folks like him surround themselves with other libs so all they hear is one side of the issue. Major urban areas are totally homogenous and it crates an "echo chamber". And the media? One sided like always

That's why Aries begins to believe its such a slam dunk to ban Redskins. But if he ever left his bubble he would soon see 80% of America thinks he is the one who is acting socially unacceptable

So if the Redskins name is changed what is next?

Oklahoma means "Red People" in the Choctaw language… are we changing the state of Oklahoma's name next?

Where does it end for liberals?

Are liberals going to call for a ban on the future broadcast/sales of old movies… including children's movies that may offend Indians?

i.e. Peter Pan?

How crazy do liberals want to get with this?

He was originally on TEH Wonder Showzen which was cancelled in 05 or 06.

So, lets guess he was 5 then, he's about 16 now and has found out he's about 1.435% of the internets...

There is truth within this post. The problem is, that's the politicization of America... both sides do this, then accuse the other side of it. It's why Rush and Hannity as so hugely popular. It's why people thought Mitt Romney was going to win the election. Sometimes both sides retreat so far into their bubble they don't even realize it, which is why the country is so divided and so unwilling to compromise on anything.

I still am not sure why this became a political football and now liberals and conservatives are throwing rocks at each other. I'm not sure it matters what Joe the Plumber or Bob the Liberal Snob think. What is the meaning of the word? Everyone keeps doing a Bill Clinton-like dance around that question. What is the meaning of the word Redskin? Is it a slur? Is it used as a derogatory term?

I'm sure after his attempt to be a star failed badly, he got an on-line preacher's certificate and runs one of those neighborhood churches (converted house), and preaches hate for the white oppressor 2-3 times a week and tells people how to vote. Twice a month (at least), after drinking-away his followers at donations "to the church" at "the club", he appears on on the local news after another unfortunate shooting where he's seen saying that all this black-on-black crime has "Gat to stop", and, alongside an emotional mother, claim "somebody needs to do something, and we're going to take back our neighborhood (and they're going to meet at "the club". Soon thereafter he'll be seen defending some youth who just killed some other gangbanger saying "he's just misunderstood, they're still working on taking back their streets, and this is all somebody else's fault".

But hey, I may be wrong..

Part of it is that the red/blue divide is at this point addicted to battle. With social media at their finger tips, they'll throw around their little epithets about any and every thing.

Part of it was that Redskins was INTENDED as an epithet for a period during the subjugation of the native population, just a Japs and Krauts were during WWII. The irony of this, to my mind, was that the NA largely didn't succumb to the intended insult and assent to the characterization as an insult. The fact that there is a contingent offended by it's more benign use today is an insult to the self-actualization of their ancestors, IMO.

They're just like any other group - opinions differ but it's the loudest voice that gets heard.

And just for the sake of argument where exactly is the Native American Israel?...
