Yelling at the umpire for the strike zone has happened before, I've seen it once, but it is EXTREMELY rare. Managers just don't do that.

I also think that sort of thing would backfire since umpires are never in the mood to argue about the strike zone. You can argue about other stuff, but on this the umpire would be more likely to think "oh you thought I was being unfair to your pitcher? Oh boy, watch what happens to your team now!"

I think you are right, but I don't understand the reasoning. If the goal is to have the rules enforced fairly and consistently using an electronic device would be far superior.

Exactly. When I was 18 or so I used to umpire little league games where managers would try to intimidate us kids umpiring. I adopted the philosophy that "If you want to cry I'm going to give you something to cry about". Ended up tossing out a lot of coaches using that one. Your best play is to be best friends with the umps.
