*.* NEW- 2014 General Fitness Thread *.*
I guess we filled up the old one... http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showthread.php?t=280149
Welcome to 2014! Now get your ass in top physical condition! No one else started it so here it is! **From the 2013 Thread** If you want to get back into lifting, or need a new lifting routine, START HERE: http://startingstrength.wikia.com/wi...inner_Programs If you have questions about the SS programs, look here: http://startingstrength.wikia.com/wiki/FAQ Keep in mind that you're a novice lifter for a longer period of time than you think you are. Novice lifting can last anywhere from a few months to a year or two, depending on how hard you hit the weights and where you started. Once you've reached the point where you don't make regular progress on the SS program, you are ready to move on to the intermediate stage, which can last you for a good number of years. Find it HERE: http://madcow.hostzi.com/5x5_Program/Linear_5x5.htm If you're a very advanced lifter (many, many years of CONSISTENT weight training), then there are lot of programs out there, and which one you pick is simply a matter of preference. If you're really that advanced, you should know what works for you and what doesn't by this point. |

"It confuses your body Artificial sweeteners have more intense flavor than real sugar, so over time products like diet soda dull our senses to naturally sweet foods like fruit, says Brooke Alpert, RD, author of The Sugar Detox. Even more troubling, these sugar stand-ins have been shown to have the same effect on your body as sugar. "Artificial sweeteners trigger insulin, which sends your body into fat storage mode and leads to weight gain," Alpert says" I mean is this false information here? I truly believe a person drinking a can a day of this stuff is going to have more problems in the future.

Once I get my braces off I'll probably have 1-2 a week. I don't think I realized what kind of damage they were doing until last year, though.

Who cares how many diet sodas he drinks as long as he's burning more calories than he takes in.

I will say Clay did well - but there's no reason Inmen and Billay can't do the same - Just stop arguing about stupid shit and pick these guy's brains. I got a ton of motivation from the first fitness thread - that was when i was a 36 waist.
I learned a lot from these guys - BUT - I benefited more from the motivation it gave - versus actual new knowledge I learned. Basically the easy way to say that is - I got more motivation than I did any actual data. However I still absolutely DID learn several things as well. Man I need to post more - my written communications are turd right now. |

Anyone have experiencing working out with a nagging shoulder injury (ACJ joint in shoulder) basically a seperated shoulder. Happened years ago when I played hockey. Couple that with the bulged discs I have from playing tennis every day last summer (something just went SNAP) and I've been a couch potato for 6 months. Should I just start lifting very light? I'm also in physio but not sure it's working although I only just started. I'm tired of feeling useless and in pain even while sitting. ****ing suckssss.

I really have to strengthen my shoulders I guess, but I'm going to use light weight, I've got them taped up to keep me in a better posture and today was probably the best I've felt. I think the injury messed with my posture. Now to just get my discs back to normal...does it feel like you can pop it back out easily when you turn or try to pop it? Hard to explain but mine moves like crazy. Just feels like the whole thing is not working in harmony with the rest of my back. I gotta go back for another MRI because last time they found NOTHING (Years ago) but I told them the pain was in my lower back so maybe they focused there. I don't know but I'm sick of it! |
