Holy $hit, I thought I'd never get to pick again!
With the 191st pick in the NFL Draft, which I also believe is the final selection for the Rams this year, the LA Rams select Drew Ott, DE, Iowa. Yes, this is a homer pick. And I am well aware that Ott is petitioning the NCAA for a 5th year of eligibility, but I'd be suprised if he gets it. In fact there has been no communication from the NCAA on the matter to Ott or the University of Iowa. Ott appeared in six games for the Hawkeyes but missed significant time in three of those. He suffered a dislocated left elbow in the second game of the season, in the sixth game of the season he tore his ACL and in October he had knee surgery. In November, Ott had his ulnar collateral ligament replaced with a tendon in his elbow, commonly known as Tommy John surgery. Lots of medical red flags but this is a player who had he not gotten banged up would have been drafted in the first three rounds. He's got heart, one hell of a motor, and is tough as hell. I love this kid. Personally I want to see him as a Hawkeye this season, but I don't think its in the cards so I'm drafting him for the Rams as a little project. |

So I was going to wait until around pick 200 to bring it up, but if teams' drafts are starting to dry up, might as well mention it now.
Is anyone interested in doing the UDFA submissions like last year? I'd like to get at least 20 teams interested. I think it was pretty painless last year filling it out and added lagniappe to the process. http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showp...postcount=1338 http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showp...postcount=1361 http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showp...postcount=1382 |

By the 7th round I'm usually trying to figure out if my labrador is on a draft list anywhere - gonna go all Air Bud or something.
Draft fatigue most certainly sets in when I'm looking through backup lineman for Savannah State to see if he'd make a solid special teams contributor with my 7th round comp pick. I can do without the UDFA process.

FWIW, these are probably the most significant players (to this point) to be picked up in UDFA of last year's draft:
David Andrews, C Cardinals -- started 10 games for Patriots in 2015 Darius Kilgo, NT Buffalo -- played 9 games for Broncos, drafted 6th round Jalston Fowler, FB Baltimore -- drafted 4th round by Tennessee, played all 16 games at FB |

Since you dicks took both QBs I was eyeing for this pick the Detroit Lions give no ***** and select another WR to help mitigate the loss of Megatron.
The Detroit Lions select Moritz Boehringer, WR, Unicorns. I sent myself a pm. |
