Romo has played in the playoffs 4 seasons of his illustrious career. For Rodgers Lite, that is pathetic. Brees has made the playoffs 6 seasons. 3 of which came after the Saints Super Bowl season.

This just in, Romo at one point was an above average NFL QB, he is no longer that. He was NEVER a top tier QB, regardless of what Hootie states.

Romo was absolutely an elite NFL QB from 07-14
'14 was his best year ... easily a top 3 QB that year ...lets just ignore the fact he was the QB on Jerry Jones' team where Jerry Jones is GM Real easy to succeed over there, no doubt. |

made the playoffs 5 out of 11 years in New Orleans The Chiefs have made the playoffs 5 times in those 11 years as well. Wanna know how many times Peyton or Tom (or Aaron for that matter) missed the playoffs the past 11 years? Getting off topic. I think Brees and Romo are both elite NFL QB's. They are both great examples of QB's not being 100% responsible for your team winning football games. Alex Smith has made the playoffs 3 times in 4 years. Drew Brees 1 time. |

Meh. As long as Romo doesn't land in Denver, I ultimately will get over it. We can clearly win with the current roster and the current QB ... as we hung in there with Pittsburgh and probably win that game 5 times out of 10 ...
so I'll just be bored watching Alex Smith run the most neutered offense I've seen in my life - and then gear up to lose to Tom or Ben or whoever in the playoffs in '17. Hoping Reid and Dorsey continue to impress me and land Romo. Truly think we have a fighter's chance. |

It's like Rodgers doesn't have a top 5 receiving group and a decent running game to help him. More times than not in his career, Aaron Rodgers had GREAT team around him. Posted via Mobile Device |

I still think Romo gets released when it's all said and done. I think it is better for Dallas' cap and I think they'll do it as a professional courtesy.
But, either way ... you can't tell me trading a 2017 3rd and a 2018 conditional pick that we'll recover in Poe compensation is some investment we won't recover from if we do have to trade. I am not an Alex Smith hater. He means nothing to me. I have no ill will or stance on Alex Smith. However, NFL QB is pretty important ... and there is zero doubt Tony Romo >>> Alex Smith. And it's not like we're getting rid of 26 year old Alex Smith who has potential. Dude is who he is and he's older and we have to replace him anyways. Upgrade with Romo, draft a prospect, hope said prospect is good, and let him learn under Romo for 2 years ... and if Romo is as big of a Croyle as you all say, I guess you'll get to see your rookie sooner rather than later. |

I never put much stock into a QB's 'weapons' ... Nelson/Cobb/Jennings and blah/blah/blah no doubt have talent ... but at the end of the day, the Rodgers' / Brady's and Manning's of the world are going to make any receiver look like they are a 'great weapon'.
Don't make me go on my Harrison/Kennison tangent all over again. I will! |
