Based on a little discussion in the other thread, I think FAX needs a break. And anyway, with Mahomes, we don't have to rely on luck and mojo for wins anymore, so it seems fitting that starting the game thread should be an honor shared by many.

So if for no other reason than it's almost 12:30 and no one has started it yet, here's a game thread. In Mahomes we trust. Amen.

Again, I still think the Chiefs win. But to think the Bengals offense is a pushover is completely overlooking the shit product of defense the Chiefs have put on the field all year long. Which to me seems more relevant a factor today, than Andy Dalton's nighttime w-l record from years past.

The Chiefs have only played the Bengals twice in the Andy Reid era. They are 1-1 against them. Their loss against them occurred in a year in which the Bengals made the playoffs.

Prior to that, the Chiefs had one winning season in 6 years. They were not a good football team, and they lost a lot of games to all kinds of teams, including the Bengals.

Those Chiefs teams of the past (even as far back as 2015, the last time the Chiefs lost to the Bengals) have less to do with the team we will field tonight than Andy Dalton's record in primetime games. He's still the same QB.

Again, neither stat means jack shit. I'm just saying that ONE of them is more significant than the other, as bullshit as it is.

Huh? The last time the Chiefs beat the Bengals was in 2007. Herm was the coach. Andy Reid has not beat the Bengals as HC of the Chiefs and only played them once IIRC. Correct me if I am wrong.

Man, I love the idea of the Chiefs getting primetime night games because of the success we're having... but I'd much rather watch at 12 or 3, really gotta watch my sauce intake for these night games

No, you're right. I misread the schedules when I looked it up and didn't realize our win against the Bengals in 2017 was a preseason game.

I've been hanging out with Knowmo too much.

Under Andy, they've only played the Bengals once.

In terms of sample size, Dalton being 1-10 is FAR more significant of a stat.
