It's over. You can tell this team is not the same. The wad was blown the last two years and now we are the ugly prom date.

Without better starting pitching, and with the addition of a couple of shit bags like Wang and Soria, this team is going no where. Our timely hitting has regressed (ability to score), and our D looks awful by comparison to previous years. I get it, I really do. It's tough to keep the momentum after two amazing years of baseball. I'm just surprised we didn't make a run at more pitching in the off-season. We gambled heavy having CY and Medlen in the rotation together to start the season. One of them is fine, but you aren't going to be a competitive team having both as SP's.

The Royals have had an amazing two year run but their awful TV contract, coupled with being a small market team, is a daunting proposition for any franchise. The biggest killer, beyond losing most of these guys in 2017, is the loss of a first round pick this year. All that said, it's really, really early. If they're .500 or better at the break, anything is possible. |

I've had very little interest in the games this year. Just not the same team.

They have been disappointing but its early. Its like the football equivalent of being 1-2 three weeks into the season. Now I will admit things seem different. Like the magic is gone. I think they will have a good run at some point and be in the thick of post season talk come August, and at that point anything can happen, but I dont see them reverting back to the juggernaut they were last year. It just doesnt seem to be there. lol. I was scolded by my step son a month or so ago when I didnt agree with him that they would win it all again this year. I said it will be tough, that would be 3 straight WS appearances.... plus back to back championships.....thats hard to do. Honestly they should have had the back to back titles, Bumgarner kind of single handedly stole that one. |

The offense is still fun, Hosmer, Moose, Cain, Gordon, etc... when they all hitting. No consistency in the pitching though.
Its hurt that Ventura and Duffy havent worked out to be consistent workhorses. This organization still has issues developing starting pitchers.
