Damn, ~$80 tickets in the lower half of the upper deck.... over 50% off from last season.

They'll keep going down for the next hour. 10 minutes before first pitch yesterday you could get into the stadium for 20 bucks

This is a massive game for Cueto. If he goes out and dominates, not only will it likely save our season, but it most assuredly get him paid stupid money in the offseason. He blows it and he'll still get a nice check somewhere, but we might essentially be done with the playoffs.

Classic game of Put Up or Shut Up for Cueto and the Royals. It will be very much be bitter to come this far and to pretty much get swept away.

Prediction:
Royals 7
Astros 6 in 10 innings.

Walkoff single by Moustakas wins it

Wade with 2 scoreless innings gets the win

Let's Go...

Give me a team like that and I'd NEVER predict gloom and doom after simply losing the 1st game of a 5 game series - even if happened at home. Maybe this time around they write another amazing story that begins with losing the 1st game of the ALDS? They deserve the benefit of the doubt. They earned it.

I'll tell you something - I used to work for the Astros up until May of this season, and there is a great deal of respect, among management and players, for the Royals and what they accomplished last season. In fact, the Royals were referenced in tons of meetings, followed with (Direct quote)," We can be the Royals this season." Make no mistake, this IS the matchup the Astros wanted and it was not out of bravado - it is /was out of respect. To be the best, you need to beat the best. The Royals are that, and like I said, deserve the benefit of every doubt.
I agree that this is how they feel, and I could see that just from watching how happy they were after winning their wild card game. It wasn't as dramatic as ours but just seeing their energy tells me that they're basically the Royals of last year. One thing I noted about last night's game is the complete lack of energy in the Royals side of the dugout. If Morales or whoever hit those homers last year, that dugout would've been going crazy. I didn't notice much of anything, and from a guy that goes multi. They need to get that energy back and quick.

The downside is I couldn't get away from work in time to pull the trigger on tickets... the upside is it's quieted down just in time for the 9th inning of the Jays/Rangers and beginning of this one.
