Taking a toddler to a Chiefs game...

Good idea or bad idea? We're flying back home to go to the Chiefs/Steelers game in October. My wife and I are battling amongst ourselves whether to bring our 16 month old daughter (she'll be 19 months come October) to the game or leave her with family. We're gonna buy some earmuffs just in case we bring her to the game obviously, and practice trying to keep them on her lol.

We've taken her to Royals games and D-backs games already and she has a blast, but we know football is different and even with the earmuffs we'd be a bit nervous lol. As far as being rowdy is concerned, we wouldn't have to worry about that since it's a football game. Just rambling now lol.

Anyway, just wondering. I've never noticed any babies or toddlers at games but now that I have one it makes you think.

Okay.

I'm sure you've seen the signs stating that profanities and other acts of general stupidity aren't wanted or tolerated in the stadium, right?
Sometimes things aren't fair and its up to the individual to exercise common sense. If you had any, you would understand this instead of making reference to the 1st amendment...

This is such a bizarre conversation.

Profanities, and drunken antics from strangers have a far more lasting impression on kids over 7 than they do in kids under 3.

I wouldn't sit through any event where I had to endure a Neanderthal. With or without kids. Luckily they can be bribed with a smile and a beer.

Or I can move.

I took my 2 year old to a preseason game. Made her cry from me zealously celebrating a 99 yard run/return by Larry Johnson.

I'd say it's not as big a risk as others are trying to make it out to be. My only concern would be noise levels.

The bigger thing is I can't think of a good reason why you should take her/him. They won't get much from it and they won't remember it. It's basically just feeding your own ideal of a special family moment.

Because some of them have fun.

Good enough for me. Hell, that's pretty much our every day goal when they're toddlers.

Sidewalk chalk is a heck of a lot less expensive to just have fun without remembering anything.

I see toddlers at a lot of music festivals. All have big headphones on so no big. But I can't imagine those parents are having as much fun as I am. And at $350 per ticket, a babysitter is much cheaper, I would imagine.

I don't judge, but I don't get it.

So do only inexpensive things until they're old enough to remember every detail?

Disneyland will be so sad.

i'd have enough to think about with defending myself and my group around me from dumbasses who are there just to get drunk and start shit.. which is frequent for a niner fan. Throw a kid into the mix? comes a game about life or death for me.
