Our Oline could get worse, as hard as that is to imagine. No coach/GM is going to think that their players are going to regress even though it is possible.
Fisher should be improved because of experience and a full off-season. Grubbs should be a marked improvement over Allen/McGlynn. Kush we all know will be a down grade. Like SNR said we just don't know how much of a down grade it will end up being. Center is important don't get me wrong, but you sure don't have to have a top 5/10 Center to be successful. RG should be improved with Allen/Faniaka. RG should be easier for Allen than LG. Stephenson is basically in a contract year. We have seen him play good at times, so we know the talent is there. He definitely needs to be more consistent but he will only get that with experience. If Stephenson falters we have Sherrod instead of Ryan Harris. Those guys should all improve, but you are right we don't know if they will or not. Of course that could be said for several other players on this squad that are not OL as well. Either way if we could make a trade for our 4th or even 3rd rounder it would give us more options. Our ILB group is probably our worst group on the team.

I'm not asking myself..I know what I would do. As mentioned above..this is probably the weakest, most shallow position group on the team...now that Maclin is signed. If there was a "stud" ILB in this draft, KC would take him..I'm not sure there is one @ #18. They can roll the dice on a few choices or go WR in the 2nd. I think CB/DT are the play in the first.. We don't know if the OL will get worse or not.
We also don't know if Alex Smith will sneak into my bedroom tonight and lay eggs in my butthole that hatch weird Alex Smith AIDS babies the next morning, which feed on my intestines while I'm still alive. |

I don't think he would cost a second. He has one year under his rookie contract so you would have to extend him, which is not guaranteed and will not be below market price, probably.

I think a five would do it but I'm good with a four. I'm probably good with a three, considering the Chiefs have two but I don't think it'll take that much. If it does, it had better be the Chiefs that traded for him and not a division rival. |

OK..so a 3rd and a new contract? I would be on that..yesterday. That would free up a WR for KC's 2nd.

On second thought, I think I'll risk it. I also think I'll risk not drafting another ****ing guard with a high draft pick. |

The average for a top 5 ILB is about $8.5M. The top 10 drops down to around $7M.
Is Kendricks worth that kind of money and do we have it to sign him to a long term deal?

Michael Kendricks is an incredibly athletic and skilled three down ILB and 24 years old. I think he's clearly better than any ILB prospect in this year's draft and only slightly older. He'd be worth a second if an extension could be worked out before the trade.
About Kush, I don't think it's reasonable to expect Hudson 2014. But Hudson 2013 should be a reasonable expectation given the teams lack of aggressive pursuit of a proven veteran center. |

After this year....DJ is more than likely gone. As it is right now....we have NO replacement for him on this roster. We should have north of $60 million next year with Sean Smith and Justin Houston needing a new contract. Trade for Kendricks, give him an extension on top of his current deal and keep his cap hit low this year.
