I just crushed my head on a metal fixture in a parking garage...
Lost a patch of hair and have a nasty cut (not stitch worthy) ... just washed my hair to try and make sure I cleaned the cut and everything but I feel a little woozy ... any precautions I should take? I don't think I need to go to convenient care or anything but I don't feel like dying today either. It's an elevated scrape, really. No blood but it's about three inches long and bright red ... And I'm missing a nice patch of hair to really further the embarrassment.

Impetigo is a staph infection (sometimes strep), but often susceptible I believe (ie not MRSA). Just oral antibiotics and maybe something topical. Steroids make infections worse because they inhibit the immune response. Makes a lot of sense for eczema (allergic), not so good for infection.

That happened to me in high school ... thought I had nasty athlete's foot ... doctor agreed. Wouldn't go away for a few weeks ... went to a different doctor, and he was like, "uh that's a staph infection." Gave me the right cream and it went away in a few days.
