Good article Breakdown of Chiefs Offense Problems

Sorry if repost. This article may already be located deep in some other thread.
I think it deserves it's own thread though. And since I am awesome, you are going to let it slide. Discuss more Alex Smith/ Andy Reid/ and OL hate here.

You cant ask for someone to change when you keep giving them the option to take the easy way out. Its not rocket science.

IF Reid wants Alex to throw to open receivers then Reid needs to take away his safe outlets.
What an embarrassing display of complete failure to understand how football plays work.

You have to admit that it would be a fun game to watch. Smith with no checkdowns?

Again, you are not understanding. It doesn't matter how much he banked. Caring about that is just a bitter reflection on what you perhaps do not make. All that should concern fans is what a player counts against your cap.

I get that you can worry about what he makes compared to what he brings to the team in the following years.. and how it can hurt the team in future years if he doesn't up his game. For now... the money is not an issue.

KC can cut loose of him prior to the 3rd league day of the 2015 offseason and not have to pay out his high base salaries. I doubt they will.. but KC does have some exit out, if they wish to pursue it. Can't say I'd mind much if they did.

I'll just say this.

I thought that Smith would have progressed by now. Instead he's regressed from last year. I feel like he took deeper shots more often last year.

Maybe it's not all him, but he hasn't really progressed in Reid's system.

Yeah, it's obvious Reeruns football iq is somehow lower than his actual iq. Let's run plays that take 8 seconds to develop since Akex has so much time to throw..

So, hes on pace to throw for a little less yardage than last year and less TD passes.

But his completion percentage is better than last year and Qb rating. Looks like hes on pace to have fewer passing attempts than last year.

I'm trying to figure out if you truly believe what you're saying.

"It doesn't matter how much he banked"?

Uhh, it does actually. Every bit of that was given to him by my ****ing team; have you forgotten? He only counts $4.6 mil against the cap because of the way the contract is structured. He got $30 mil in guarantees.

The fact that we'd have to eat $30 million dollars worth of guarantees for one ****ing season of absolute ineptitude, should we decide to cut him before the third league day of 2015, apparently "doesn't matter" to you.

You're honestly a ****ing reerun.

He is what hes always been. Decent QB, but not a guy you can count on to 'carry' a team.

A team can win with him obviously, but the rest of the team around him has to be all world. especially the defense.

If this happened with any player other than Smith you'd be singing a different tune.

I think we can all also agree on that.

Oh, and Reid needs to do a better job of helping Smith out by running the ball more and taking away some of his attempts. But we know thats probably not going to happen.....

Well that's just not very nice.

I think we all know Smith will be a Chief for the next 2 more years.. and all of that guaranteed money will come into play then. So that said, I am suggesting to you that you need not worry much about what he's making this season. The true test will be in the next 2 years.

In those next 2 years.. likely in the next offseason.. KC will have upgraded on the OL, and upgrade the WR position. THAT will be where Alex will be required to play more to his contract.
