-- Which D formation/sets would give KC the most realistic chance of winning vs. PM

Just wondering and trying to learn the game more.

But say you were to spear-head the D going in to Denver.

How would you start off, at least? What approach would give us the best chance, factoring in our soft secondary?

Do you just spread them out and hope that we can stop the run?

Meh..

Instruct me, educate me, ...... Hold me.

Hey I'm down with some imagination, mix that up with some of the 3-3-5 Scooter mentioned earlier today... ANYTHING to confuse and give a strange new look.

Sadly, I dont see Sutton having the balls or vision to get weird like that... he's a B movie Rex Ryan.

He cant even adjust his sack when its getting pinched.

Run a 4-2-5 most of the game and plenty of cover 3 out of it.

Hali and Houston at DE with Ford/Martin rotating
Bailey and Poe at DT with Walker/Howard rotating

J. Michael Johnson and J. Mauga at LBs

drop Berry down into the box for running downs. outside zone on pass
nickle in the box most of the time. outside zone on pass
corners deep zone with fs.
lbs middle zones. both keying the cross by one WR and the short hook by the TE (takes away Manning's "happy place")

Emphasis on put a hit on Manning every time you're within 3 steps early.

The primary rushers need to get Peyton, if he recognizes the blitz formations we are ****ed up the A-hole.

Hybrid cover 4.
The corners play hybrid man/zone safeties have help run support out of the defense allowing the linebackers to play more liberally in their outside responsibilities. An NFL version of Michigan State's defense for just a game or two

Look at all of this forward thinking and imagination...

Too bad Sutton wont use any of it, he'll just keep doing what he did with the same results... and I'm not just trying to join in with the cool kid spirit of negativity either, the guy is lacking.

What did Poe play last week, something like 77 of 79 snaps or something stupid like that? He cant even grasp the need to give key players a breather, let alone get all artistic with his scheme.

He had 5! Pro Bowlers in the game last week and helped make them look useless.

Trending DOWN on Sutton for sure.

They're isn't anything creative to it base formation of a Cover 1, and you've got to keep your shit together and keep and beat your man because Peyton will tear your shit up. It's that simple, the man won't be confused, the front 4 has to beat there's plain and simple.

The takeaway here is that they're playing deep zone press with their corners just like Seattle and jacksonville...

Why good coaches like Reid don't see this on film and want to bring in a guy who can teach it, is beyond me

I think the D that is biggest and hurts the worst going into Peyton's ass is the one we should use.

Most teams pattern match that way out of quarters.

It's funny because it's something Rex, Rob, Paganos, and Saban do but Sutton doesn't with any frequency.

Why? Because we are the Chiefs.
