I love Chipotle; though, I never get a burrito (courtesy of a kick as underbite I have that doesn't chomp though tortillas); I get a bowl or tacos. I also only get their corn tortillas or their crunchy shells. No flour.......yuck.
Love Steak 'n Shake, though hardly ever go there because there isn't one near us. Same for Firehouse - love it, but have only had the NY Steamer thing which kicks ass. McDonalds literally makes me sick to my stomach within about an hour of eating it. I probably eat it maybe 3 times a year out of necessity.

Went out to San Diego a couple years ago for my son's graduation from USMC bootcamp. Apparently, there is a In-n-Out Burger place right off base, and the first thing any Marine wants to do is get one right as soon as they are released. We went to one a little further away to avoid the rush of hungry new Marines.
Hate to say it, but I absolutely did not get the hype. I get it for the Marine guys, they've been getting their asses kicked for like 3 months so I bet it tastes like the best burger ever, but personally, I found it actually underwhelming. BUT...I'd like to try it again because it seems so popular that maybe I just didn't get them on a "good" day.

I made the mistake of buying some ground buffalo a few years ago. I can never go back to ground beef burgers again.

At one point McD's owned a portion of Chipotle. I think they helped during the fast expansion. They sold their share and are no longer involved. I believe the original owners are still running the day-to-day operation.

I know it has a lot of sodium, but if you avoid the tortillas, guac, and cheese, Chipotle is pretty light. My typical bowl (chicken, pinto beans, peppers/onions, 2 salsas, lettuce) has around 500 calories despite weighing around 5 pounds.

Chipotle is what it is.....a bit healthier "mexican", than going to a Robertos, Albertos, etc.
Out west, Rubios is pretty good too (though it's gone downhill some as they've gotten bigger) THere is a "Habit" in San Diego - tried it once, gotta admit - a damn fine burger! Lot of hate going on for In N Out. It's different. And it's something I crave maybe once a year. As others have said, the shakes are outstanding. If you're hungover and want a burger - In N Out is the choice. If you want a good burger-burger.....Habit or Five guys. Of course, for me, nothing beats the old Wylies triple burger, back in the day in Overland Park!!
