But that's pointless. No coach in the world is going to want to come in here and keep Pioli if they're given a say in the matter. There's no reason for it.

why not just fire pioli
is any HC going to want to work with a wounded GM, much less a total asshole and failure like pioli?

You're right that there is no upside to this move at all. PR nightmare and potentially damning for trying to get a high-quality coach.

WHB's web page is linking a story from Gregg Rosentahl from NFL.com saying Crennel is out, but Pioli is to remain.

I can't believe people are defending Clark right now. What a moronic fan base.
There is NO reason to keep Pioli. Who cares if he finds a coach that wants to work with Scott? Why have a lame duck GM without power? Clean the slate.

It's pointless, but Clark has proven to be a pussy like this. Not entirely different from the way that Herm was handled.

No credible potential HC will want Fat Scott in the organization... even if the HC is given more power. If anything Fat Scott's presence will make it more difficult to attract a big name HC. |

Maybe he's trying to get Pioli himself to quit his job? Does Clark save money if that's what happens?

Just fire him now and you can put it all on the 2-14 season and not the internal issues and the fact he cant get along with anyone who isn't a puppet for him. |

As someone pointed out earlier, maybe it's a legal issue with language of the buyout in Pioli's contract, and Clark can't legally talk about it just yet?
