Sad to see him go. His Buried Treasure show always brightened my day. Loved his playlists. And listening to him joke around always made me smile. I thought he was a really cool person.

What a bad week for humanity.
Loss of life in Vegas, Petty, and the news of Marty. "Forgive a stranger, hug a friend, and raise a toast to the ghosts you know will outlive you..."

Also, in 1987, somebody set his house on fire and he lost close to everything he owned. Story is here:

Tom talking about his home being burned down, what all of his friends Annie Lennox, George Harrison and many more, had done for him and family was very moving. One man that made such an impact on my life. Whenever I hear one of his songs today, there is always a memory of a time and place it was playing. They are all great memories. Thank you Tom Petty RIP. |

I really enjoyed hearing him on Sirius, which I listen to almost exclusively. He got his own channel semi-recently that basically just played his music and music he liked, he curated the channel himself. You'd hear him on there telling stories about how they recorded a song or random stories about his life or about other musicians. His "Buried Treasure" show was really a great listen. I'll miss hearing him on there.
