I can't think of a single thing Pioli could have done while running this football team to add to the mental state of someone who shot several holes in his girlfriend and then shot one hole in his own head.

Belcher took the cowards way out, but if you think this tragedy makes Arrowhead a friendly place to work you are so far from reality it isnt even funny. |

People trying to blame Pioli for this is like blaming AJ Smith for Seau's suicide. Just stop it.

Seau wasn't directly involved on a day to day basis with the Chargers organization under AJ Smith, whereas Belcher WAS a currently player in the Pioli-led Chiefs organization. |

I don't care either way really. I don't know Belcher personally. Stuff like this happens to hundreds of people daily...to people I don't know. Only difference is Belcher is on TV and plays a game for a team I root for. It's a horrible thing to happen for sure...but I don't feel any different as I would had this happened to Joe Schmoe in Hew Hampshire, etc.

You all jump me for saying a deranged individual who runs an organization into the ground and brings in another deranged individual and has him in said organization that is being run into the ground didnt add to a deranged individuals psyche?
Look, Pioli didnt deserve to see this, nor Crennel if that is indeed how it went down. I feel bad for them both. But I refuse to believe any one crazed person doesnt rub off on another. |

I feel for Pioli as the person who had to go through this ordeal from a boss standpoint and from someone who had to witness it. I don't feel for bad for Pioli the GM running the Chiefs. Both are different situations. I know this is horrible to say but Pioli's job better not be safe due to this horrible ordeal... in the long run it may NOW be better off for him to get away from KC period.

Obviously, I have empathy for everyone involved. This is a tragedy and our thoughts should be on the human element here, even with people we want gone from the front office. We can't know whether the pressure of a failed season and front office added to the troubled mind of Belcher.
I will root for the Chiefs to play well the rest of the season. I don't think we should fly the banner this one week. Nevertheless, it will be my hope that the Chiefs (despite playing well) lose the next 3 games to Carolina, Browns and Raiders, secure the first pick and then beat the Colts and Broncos to end the season on a higher note. |

It is terrible that Pioli and Romeo had to witness the event. However, given the magnitude of the event, he probably exhibited symptoms prior to this event. People very rarely just go do this type of thing without notice. As his leaders they had it within their power to intervene to prevent such an action, and failed to do so. This post will probably bring me a lot more grief than it's worth, but even the army is putting the emphasis on leader and peer awareness and intervention. I don't see how it should be any different in a football organization.

You should have strong evidence before this statement applies: "they had it within their power to intervene to prevent such an action, and failed to do so." |

Stop trying to project your displeasure with this team's front office onto this situation.
