If its on a weeknight, and before 6pm Pacific time, I'm not able to do it, bottom line.
If I'm not drafting live, I dont want to be in the league. |

Well, hopefully everyone in the league doesn't feel that way, because there's no way to find a time that will work for everyone.

IF you did a weekday/night, Tuesdays or Wednesdays are great for me...anytime,
The rest of the week I work till 10pm cst (9pm here), but can get off if I have to. Any late morning early after noon is good for me also. But I can manage to work around most anything, It's good to be one of the bosses |

I know a couple people are into doing the IDP thing, but if we didn't do IDP, we could cut the draft to 14-16 rounds (depending on how many bench spots). That could theoretically cut the draft time down by 1 hr 48 mins to 2 hrs 24 mins. That puts us more in line for a 3:00 to 3:30 draft and more manageable for an 8 PM start time.

I like the IDP thing, just because I haven't done it before.

As far as my schedule, I typically work a regular 8-5. Most weeknights are free. Weekends are hit or miss.
I'm with Buc, if I can't make the draft, it's just not worth it to play. I have never had even a halfway decent experience pre-ranking, even if I spent a ton of time on it. There's just no way to account for who everyone else is going to take. If there's a run on QB's for example, you could end up with 4 RB's and Kyle Orton. I'm not too worried about it though, if it works out, great. If not, it looks like there's plenty of people around here willing to take my spot. I appreciate all the work doomy is doing to accommodate everyone, but it's damn near impossible to line up 12 schedules. |

everyone acts like the draft is gonna last more than 6 hours, i do about 4-5 leagues a year for the past 8 years and i have never had a draft last more than 2 hours and that includes leagues with IDP's

nobody said it was GOING TO last > 6 hours, but it most likely will last >3.5-4. I don't think I've ever had a 12 team draft go in under 2 hours, and I've been doing this online (will only speak about online, as live drafts tend to run longer) for about 15 years. You must have tons of folks on auto pick.

12 teams and 20 rounds even at 30 seconds per pick is still 2 hours, and more often than not a team takes >30 seconds to pick

If most pick between 30 and 60 (say 40 on average, since that' would be on the low end of the scale), with 12 teams and 20 rounds, then the draft would last 2 hours and 40 minutes, not under 2 hours as you previously stated.
