Just for the record, we've shattered the record for posts in a day today. The old record was set on September 7, 2008 with 7,317 posts. We're currently at 8,298 for the day and climbing.

Yeah, it's been fine 99% of the time, but every once in a while a query will get stuck that bogs us down for a minute or two. Not sure why it's so variable, but whatever.

It's a weird deal - the number of posts in a day isn't an issue, but a ton of people posting in a big thread causes the server to lag here and there. Damn inefficient DB.

I am glad I read this post because I was about to start bitching. It takes forever to post anything and it is so laggy.
