Geno Smith vs Alex Smith - It's on.

It's on now. Geno Smith is probably going to be starting for the Jets this season.

Alex Smith will be the Chiefs QB for the forseeable future. If he's a success, we'll probably get five good years out of him.

So who's gonna win more NFL games over that time period?

Put your ten pounders on the table and make a vote

Alex: 11 wins
Geno: 8 wins

Sounds like our definition too. If Tebow suited up for "your team", you'd probably think you had a chance at the Superbowl...

no, no I wouldn't......

I would pull for him, but truth be told, hes just an awful football player, and the words super bowl, wouldn't enter my lexicon. It sure didn't with Colt pony boy McCoy. Realism is still a thought process that I hold onto.

Notice I have never said the Chiefs can win a super bowl with alex smith.....

Meh, first the names aren't needed. Second, Brandon Weeden showed nothing last year for you to say that he was better than Alex Smith.

So.....yes, you are talking about how he is blowing up the preseason.

undetermined. But, I tend to agree with you. I don't think the 49ers make the super bowl with Alex Smith last year. So everything worked out the way it was supposed to.

Nah. I guess you have an inability to separate what you see from the end result. Nothing went Weeden's way last year, doesn't mean he didn't have the tools. Coaching is huge too.

Explains your inability to separate 49er success from mediocre QB play.

QFT

Anything else be told is a lie. Harbaugh and the rest of the 9er fans could not wait to bench and can Alex Ass Smith.

We never "put down" Alex Smith. Some did, most didn't. Most, like me, simply stated the good and the bad.

I said he was intelligent, mobile, efficient, careful, knew the playbook in and out, mastered the short passing game, read defenses well, and moved the chains between the 20s.

I said he was cautious, risk averse, would not attack defenses, could not throw into a window, would not throw receivers open, could not throw to his left, took unnecessry sacks instead of throwing the ball away, threw short on 3rd and long, sometimes did not see the open receiver, and would not take the appropriate risk at the appropriate time when the reward was worth the risk.

If that is "putting down" Smith, then your perspective is warped. It is no more putting down Smith than if I cited Michael Vick's wildness or Tony Romo's inconsistency.

My honesty is not trolling.

I never considered you the "enemy". I considered you to be unreasonable in both your judgment and your demeanor.

Your judgment was deficient in how you refused to see these weaknesses in Alex and made myriad excuses for his play.

Your demeanor was deficient in that you had to respond to EVERY post by EVERY person who discussed Alex. You could not just state your case and leave it, and occassionaly rebut or add to it.

You were a Crusader. You were a Paladin. You were a Missionary. It was your mission in life to DEFEND Alex to the death on every thread, to every person, for every statement.

Not only did it get old fast, it made you look foolish and left you feeing like you were being attacked by the entire forum as Alex's obvious weaknesses became more accepted by the entire forum.

By the time I joined, Harbaugh had just arrived and many people had renewed hope in Alex's resurrection under Jim. There were MANY people who joined you in that hope, many of whom were moderators.

As time went on, we saw Alex hit a ceiling of what he could do ( you still can't see this I believe). More and more people came to realize Alex's ceilings, so more and more people came to post criticism of him which you had to personally rebut each and every instance of each post.

OK, that is a wild exageration. But you did post very frequently to very many bits of criticism of Alex, and it left you feeling like the enemy because so few people were left on your side.

We didn't make you the enemy. You made yourself the enemy by default, because you demanded to take on all comers, of which we all became -- except "Viper", the lone holdout.

No wonder you felt like the enemy.

Don't blame us. It was your skewed perspective that made you feel like the world was against you, just because of your extreme minority opinion. One that did not reflect reality.

I'm no troll. I've just said it like it is. I could troll you from kingdom come over here and almost never do. When I do it, I call you out for obvious things -- like your saying, "I'm not an Alex homer". You can say that until the cows come home, but the evidence is obvious.

Good luck here.

It was you against the entire 49er forum. Now it is you against the entire Chief's forum. You need to see the pattern there. It is you. So figure out why it is you and fix it.

Not true. I think that Weeden has stud potential. I know that Colin is a stud. I think Alex Smith can be a stud under Andy Reid, and I am well aware of the big play ability that Kaep brings, that Alex Smith lacked.

Im just a guy who prefers to see it in games that really count.
