That's my point. I think a more defensible case for retaining Anderson could be made if he actually recruited worth a damn and kept some of Haith's talented players and won 16 games in year 2 or 3 . Alas, he didn't. Which is why Mizzou is where it is.

So how can anyone think he deserves more time with that reasoning?

A bit off topic but keeping the same theme, I had the pleasure of attending the 2nd and 3rd periods of the MU v KU border war hockey game last night and in true form MU's players were outmatched.

Thank God the tickets were free.

He's been crushed by injuries. His full team beat us in Hawaii first game and they were as good as anyone we played.

.
I'm not saying he's a terrible coach but he's not getting fired for nothing and if he can't cut it at Indiana he might not cut it at Mizzou either. Although I'm not sure what the expectations are at Mizzou anymore. Be a better coach that Anderson? If so then yeah he's a auccess.

The problem at Indiana is the same one any coach would have at Kentucky, North Carolina, Kansas, UCLA, or any other normally dominant BB power school.....if you aren't winning it all and making it to the Final 4 every year you are a failure.

Tom Crean will leave Indiana and see much more success. He won't be put under a very hot microscope for every move he makes or every "can't miss" prospect who really isn't as good as advertised.

I would be happy if he came to MU......

Maybe but can you name anyone who failed at UNC, KU, UCLA, etc. Then went on to be a successful head coach somewhere else?

Adding some optimism to the thread. Kim Anderson is ****ing awful, but his colleagues realize how ****ing awful he is and that he makes the team and job look worse than they are.

I would say that Steve Lavin did well after his stint at UCLA.....as did Jim Harrick at Rhode Island and Georgia (until the incident with the unpaid phone calls by his players).

Mike Davis hasn't done too bad at both UAB and Texas Southern after his stint at Indiana....

It probably doesn't happen often but you can't say it has never happened.

Also don't think Crean has "failed..." he's having a down year after some key injuries.

Considering he's a guy with multiple Sweet 16 trips AND a Final Four trip, I'd say if Indiana is firing him, it's an example of Indiana never embracing him and him having a bad year at the wrong time.

Maybe it's just wishful thinking, but I have been hearing from the few MU alums closer to the program than I am that there is real interest in Crean if he is let go by IU.

Please let this be true.

They dont....it's a club sport. A step above student rec play.

A buddy of mine was on mu squad a while back. He would drive to Jeff city to practice 2x a wk. Don't think Columbia has an ice rink anywhere.
