I wonder where the first CBB game not including Kentucky ranks?

College basketball needs to know its place.

Impressive...and we already know that the two CFB semi-final games blew away everything on that list.

Interesting take Coch. I look at that chart and see the same thing we've discussed for 2 years here: college footballs title game at 26m vs hoops at 21m.

I still see the Orange/Fiesta/Cotton now being outdrawn regularly by Elite 8 games. I see crappy bowl games barely registering Nielsen blips and half-empty stadiums. I see a Sugar Bowl that had to take OU to drive ratings (leapfrogging higher ranked teams)....to barely eke out a tiny edge on a Final Four game.

At any rate CFB cleared the decks for the playoff games to be held alone on prime time. NYD with nothing else on, Thurs night no less. I would guess the title game will not match the ratings
I don't disagree. I hate bowl games and never watch them other than the ones that have an impact on who wins the NC. They are like watching NFL preseason games to me.

I also don't expect great ratings for this years title game because I think it will be a blow out. If it is a close game though it will draw big ratings.

I actually looked back and reviewed the numbers of BCS title games and SEC team involvement pulls the ratings down. Teams like ND, Texas, Ohio State, Oklahoma, USC, etc all bring in bigger numbers.

For that reason I think there will be a decent bump in interest between OSU and Oregon.

I think the number will be good for the NCG but nothing like Texas-USC.

Obviously a tournament determining a champion that involves 60+ teams is going to get slightly lower ratings then a 4 team playoff.

What an incredibly pointless argument.

Now if a college football playoff game beats a viewership of 35,000,000+ which was set by Michigan State vs Indiana State then I'm all ears.

How is that possible? Your sidekick PB stated that ND is irrelevant and the Baylor was the true golden domer. Shouldn't they be on that list of top ratings drawers?
