TBH I'm not even much of an Eric Berry fan anymore because of this whole situation. Clark Hunt, Andy Reid and numerous players visited Eric routinely while he was going through rehab...do you know how difficult that is for a guy like Clark Hunt? The team stepped up and paid the man WHEN THEY DIDNT NEED TO while going through his bout with cancer as well as doing everything in their power to provide him with world class care.

What did Berry do to repay that good will?

Completely shit on the organization by demanding almost 20% more than the highest paid safety in NFL history.

You want stupid money?

Go get it in Cleveland.

Hasn't the time passed for comp picks? IIRC if we let Berry go now we won't get the comp pick.

Come picks aren't given out until the offseason, so I doubt that.

If anything...KC has 3 players, 2 of which play critical positions, in a contract year. Barring injury, they should have a motivated year. Berry seems to thrive when faced when a challenge. It was a shrewd move by Dorsey...but the correct one.

It will give them time to evaluate their new pick...see how the conversion process goes. KC doesnt really have many pressing needs besides a future ILB and possibly guard.

Just asking. Who are the 3?

How does being the highest paid safety in the league this season "motivate" Eric Berry?

Wide Receiver, OLBer, ILB, CB and guard are all question marks at this time.

Are we talking current roster or future roster? If current, seems to me ILB really isn't much of a questions we pretty much have the same crew as last year plus March. Maybe I'm interpreting something incorrectly here?

Anyway, I'd agree that there are some questions about WR, OLB, CB and G. Though really, we're no worse at WR than last year are we? OLB is certainly questionable as we still don't know what we have with Ford. Smith's absence at CB provides questions there, and who knows about our LG situation.

Until someone steps up next to Derrick Johnson, it's a question mark, as Mauga is barely serviceable.

Add to that, DJ is 34 years old. Unfortunately, the wheels could fall off at any time.

KC has Gaines and Nelson...though not thoroughly battle tested, I think they are going to be decent players...plus they just drafted 2 more. They have, at the very least, addressed the position by throwing numbers at it.

Berry is playing for his next contract....possibly for a new team. Even if the tag makes him the highest paid safety....this season has a lot of potential $$ at stake.

I'm intrigued by both Williams and Streater. Williams has been a bonafide starter in the NFL...nobody knows anything yet as he hasn't had a chance to compete.

I wouldn't hate KC drafting another high round OLB...You need 3 and Hali is about done.

Yeah, they'll get they the framework for a new contract done in three days, something they couldn't get done for years prior.

Good ****ing god.

I get the anger and disdain following Berry's moves and attitude this offseason and people have the right to be upset about it. However, I really really really hope it doesn't come to the point where he's booed first game back.

It may sound ridiculous, but as much as he may have pissed some of you off, this man does not deserve to be booed by the fans, even if he sits out every TC practice.
