Tony Romo rumor

Gotta ask what do you guys think? There are strong rumors we are interested. I would love it if we got AJ MCCaron from Bengals.

What do you guys think

Each player and their injuries are unique. Peyton Manning had a different type of injury. Romo has had a bunch of injuries. Sure there is a chance Romo comes back and plays every game next season but it's highly unlikely and therefore not worth the risk for the Chiefs because we already have an average game managing QB who we can win with.

Ironically Peyton won a SB in Denver while playing the worst football of his NFL career by far so lets not act like the Broncos won the SB because of him they won in spite of him if anything.

That said Peyton was obviously a great signing for Denver but I don't think Romo would be for us. It's just too risky and frankly even if he stay'd healthy the guy would probably choke in the playoffs anyway.
Too risky? What are we risking?

Im at the point of have they or are they going to help us win championships now? The answer is NO... Cut and replace....

We havent won anything with them, we arent going to win anything if they stay. Time for new blood.

After 30 years of being a fan, Im way over the sentimental bullshit of caring about players retiring as Chiefs or the Chiefs HOF, etc....

Why? It would be the best thing for us. It could potentially cost them picks and salary cap space. Then Romo will get injured and the team will have to rely on Lynch or Sieman.
Out of 11 years Romo has made it through 5 seasons without missing time.the last season he made it through was 2012. He hasn't been able to stay healthy behind the best OL in the league going against lesser pass rush in the NFC West than he would in the AFC West.
Romo to Denver would be a good thing for the rest of the AFC West.

He does well at contributing to helping his team win by limiting his mistakes but can never take over a game and win it by himself. We all know what these type of QBs do? They limit the success of a franchise.
Alex Smith had more turnovers this year than kaepernick

That is sentimentality and team cohesion. It's not the optimum strategy [see, Belicheck's ice-cold ability to let anyone but Brady [and him possibly some day] walk]. But if the opportunity arises for palatable contracts, the fan side of us wants them to be a part of the reward some day.

I'd love nothing more than a still-in-box mint condition Derrick Johnson 2.0, but until one comes along we weigh the alternatives of a lesser pedigreed LB with his contract demands.

All 3 of them don't cost as much as Romo would and we'd be much better off. Five games in 2 years. Is that how you want to invest in our future? If so, I have some gold mine stock I can sell you.

what is this 5 games in 2 years tripe?

Montana played 1 whole game in 1991 and 1992 before coming to KC ... much like Romo, he was replaced by a different guy in 1992 while he served as backup

So?

The Raiders will be the favorites if Romo doesn't sign with Denver.

The point is that he (Romo) was injured for most of that time. Montana wasn't.
