Gotta ask what do you guys think? There are strong rumors we are interested. I would love it if we got AJ MCCaron from Bengals.

In fact, the only teams this mythical, battle-tested, Super Bowl caliber QB has ever beaten in the postseason are... a wild card team coached by Andy Reid (nuff said), and a wild card Detroit team that turned the ball over 3 times on the road in the playoffs (nuff said)

So... tell us why, again, Romo is going to take us to the promised land?
Highlight gifs aside. The truth is a stubborn thing.

Depressing to look at that. Shows what an utter crapshoot it is to pick one.

The defense did it's part to lose that game by allowing the Steelers to drive down the field possession after possession.

Dropped passes by Kelce, Maclin, Wilson, and the bonehead penalty by Kelce, all contributed to that loss.

The bonehead clock management on that final drive contributed.

The hold contributed.

But here's the deal.
This is why QBs get most of the credit, and most of the blame.

Everyone is focussing on that single missed play to Hill by Alex, but we've all seen the all 22 gifs that show multiple missed opportunities by Smith.

How many were there?
9?
10?

The dropped passes and bonehead penalties by all the receivers combined don't add up to the number of opportunities that Smith said.

There's this myth that Smith doesn't lose games because he plays safe, but the fact is, he misses those kind of opportunities multiple times, game in and game out.

Against good teams in the playoffs, missing those opportunities loses you those games.

This was a team losss, but Alex Smith is the single biggest reason for that loss.
That's my issue with it. Teams win and lose as a team, but the QB is the leader can carry teams at times. Alex's paranoia in the pocket is his single worst own enemy. Most QBs see Maclin open down field and instinctively throw it. It may be complete, dropped or knocked down. Hell there may even be a PI if the safety gets there too soon or what not. My point is, instead of Alex throwing a dart to Maclin, he panics and runs away. I was behind Alex the second half of 2015 but after week 1 of this season, there was just nothing from him. He has more than enough around him to go to a Super Bowl.

I just don't want to waste Kelce and Hill's career on offense, to go along with the other good young defensive players and vets we wasted.

Somewhat surprised to see your name attached to this post. It honestly reads as if from a 10 year old. (read it again and you'd agree)

98% of CP may be done with him, but that's really just an indication of... CP.

Most KC fans.. or fake fans that just want the team to win.. recognize that Smith has done a lot of good for the Franchise.. and may still be the best option as their QB1.. for the time being. These fans... self included.. also are ready for KC to draft an early QB to develop in 2017.

If this forum has made its final conclusions, and uses its right to scream at the sky over Smith... that's fine.. but ultimately not an impact to the actual team and F/O.

I'm actually very comfortable with the idea of a new starting QB for KC. The unknown brings excitement, and unless Smith is going to let loose.. he does not bring excitement.

Just don't be shocked or outraged if he is back as the starter in 2017. He almost certainly will be.. just as many like yourself will be dismayed and screaming at the sky yet again.

Your anger should be directed at Andy Reid and Dorsey. Smith's just doing the best he can and raking in large money to do so. The people above him are the ones making it happen.

I know this wasnt directed at me, but I am of the opinion that the end results of Romo getting hurt or Smith starting every game for us in 2017 would be one and the same.

The difference being IF Romo DOESNT get hurt, our end results would be higher than if we just stayed the course.

Would still be a better result for the Chiefs than Alex starting all season long.

His deep ball has to be the worst deep ball I've ever seen in my life ... He never puts any air under the ball and he consistently overthrows every open receiver by 1-5 yards ... like clockwork.

Like I said, he's clearly doing something somewhat decent (or Reid is just a really terrific coach) ... to win all of those games ...

BUT

It is such a boring, stale, snooze fest brand of football I want to gauge my damn eyes out.

Tony Romo gets a lot of unjust hate around here because he is the Cowboys QB and everyone hates the Cowboys ... but, put him on this Chiefs team and we get healthy Romo and have him healthy for the playoffs? We're neck and neck with New England. No doubt in my mind.

Anyone who doesn't want Romo is insane. Bring Romo in and draft a QB within the first 100 and we're on the right path.

Said it (much) earlier in this thread now, but a healthy Romo makes the Chiefs a SB contender in a way that they will never be with their current QB. There really shouldn't be any debate about that.

Now he'll likely never stay healthy, but why wouldn't you take that chance that he does?

why is that likely?

I agree he's getting old and he's had trouble with injuries the past 2 years ... but likely is a bit strong.
