48k in attendance with about 60% being Minnesota fans (in my estimation, it was hard for me to tell since half the fans on both sides were wearing gold) still puts about 20k there for Missouri.

Minnesota hasn't played in a significant bowl game since the 1960s, so it was a big deal for them. Not such a big deal for a school that has been to a bowl 10 of the last 12 years. But sending around 20k to a game in another part of the country is fine, I think. Especially when the team isn't as good as it was last year.

I don't understand this thought process at all. If non playoff bowls are meaningless today, so was every bowl other than the NCG in the past.

It makes total sense...it's all you have left when your team is an embarrassment to your conference and the laughingstock of CFB.

I love the hate. With each post, PB and Bambi makes Mizzou more and more relevant, given that it clearly dominates their thoughts and spare time. It's flattering that my team is the object of so many fans' obsession.

SEC again leads the way with 7 bowl wins. I get why people hate the SEC. It sucks getting dominated year after year. The SEC eats from the middle of the pie, and everyone else has to share the scraps.

Well, when your entire conference plays 4 cupcake out of conference games, you only need 2 conference wins to get to a bowl. Lots of teams qualifying because after OOC they are 2/3rds the way there.

Now, everything outside of the three playoff games are essentially meaningless since it's clear the committee got the field correct in its first run. Perhaps other New Years' Six beyond the two playoff bowls will gain prestige as time goes on, but I dunno if I'll ever see it that way.

You do realize that in the era of Google Image, it takes 10 seconds to pull up hundreds of photos and see if you're lying again?

Ignorant post. Kentucky had Louisville, Georgia had G tech, USC had Clemson, Florida had FSU, Alabama had West Virginia, Auburn had KSU just to name a few. Try educating yourself a bit.

The Big 12 had one win over a ranked team out of conference this year, and that was in a bowl game.

The SEC plays more good teams in the non-con than anyone.
