Dexter McCluster heads to the CFL

Terrell Owens could be playing in Canada. For now, a former NFL player some 15 years younger than Owens is headed there.

The Toronto Argonauts announced on Monday that they have signed running back Dexter McCluster.

A second-round pick of the Chiefs in 2010, McCluster played both running back and receiver in the NFL. After four years in Kansas City, he spent two with the Titans and a portion of 2016 with the Chargers.

McCluster, a 29-year-old who did not play in 2017, generated 1,042 rushing yards and 1,993 receiving yards. He also racked up 1,554 kick-return yards and 1,388 punt-return yards, for a grand total of 5,977 all-purpose yards.

I AM SO NOT BITTER
I'm talking pre-Verneil.

Marty days, when Denver won 2 Super Bowls.

Sharpe caught like a 4 yard out and turned it into a 24 yard TD to seal the game for Denver. Dale Carter rode on Sharpe's back for like 20 of the yards...it was ****ing excruciating.

So, a complete deconstruction of my hatred for Dexter McCluster, his fans, and the guy who drafted him...

1. He was a terrible, terrible pick that high in the second round. As was pointed out by someone almost immediately following the pick, he had one of the worst speed scores in combine history (77.3).

You know what Spencer Ware's speed score is? 96.

If McCluster had entered the draft this season, he would have had the worst speed score among all running backs by TEN POINTS.

That's what you get when you draft a pipsqueak who is on the lower edge of player size in the NFL and runs a ****ing 4.58.

2. He had no position. He was too light to be even a 2nd RB, let alone a starter. He was too short and slow to be anything of value at WR, and when you factored in his shitty ****ing hands, well, gee, what the **** are we going to do with this guy?

I know, let's throw him a jillion screen passes and dumpoffs in the flats, mix in some 1-yard drags and LET HIM USE HIS ATHLETICISM!

And of course no one saw that coming with the shitsucking tweedledee the wonder dummy we had at QB at the time.

3. The Chiefs overfed him the ball. I literally think there was a mandate from Fuhrer Pioli to feature his blessed second-round pick. And when a guy touches the ball THAT much he's bound to break a few plays, and so....emboldened by his draft position, OMG HIS DREADLOCKS AND HE'S SO LITTLE AND POUNDS HIS CHEST GO LITTLE GUY, he engendered a LEGION of dumbass fans.

And they would not shut up about him, his potential, that one time he did something awesome and so he's gonna do it every game now guyz for realz!!!! And the Chiefs wouldn't stop giving him the ball and he wouldn't stop not scoring touchdowns and, in short, it was a very frustrating time for me.

Basically he was the Matt Cassel of running backs, except he wasn't even a running back. He was just a black hole that attracted footballs. The footballs got sucked into Dexter McCluster and nothing came out of it.

In short, **** him, **** his fans, **** the guy who drafted him, **** his stupid spin move, and **** BossChief, too. One last time, buddy.

I wish there was a metric that weighed draft position, total touches and touchdowns scored.

With almost 500 career touches and only 9 TD, Dex would be at the bottom.

It was SO Chiefy. 4-0, then...Monday Night Meltdown...then getting stole on by the Vinny Testaverde-led Jets, who threw a TD pass to Kyle Brady in the rain. The two slowest mother****ers EVER in the NFL, you could clock their 40 times with a sundial...and they looked like Brady and Gronk against the Chiefs.

Then, off to Denver for 'the rematch'...and Dale Carter decides to play piggyback with Shannon Sharpe.

It don't get much Chiefier, mah friend.

Darryl Dawkins won an NBA Championship with the Sixers yet he played with Forli Telemarket in Italy after his career was done in US. That's life as a pro athlete.

I think mccluster would have been fine in an albert Wilson type role. DAT is explosive but can't play receiver worth a shit. Wilson is a better receiver but was totally reliable for possession downs because stone hands. The problem is he was paid to be something he was not. Teams paid him to be a playmaker when his best role was to be a role player #4 type receiver.
