GOODBYE Sunday Ticket! Big SHOUTOUT to Nickhead

I've been a Direct TV user since 1996. 21 stinking years.

AND the only reason I've never "cut the cord" is because of Sunday Ticket.
I could not find a replacement stream that was steady, strong, and not full of pop-ups or malware warnings!

Then last night...like a message from heaven...Nickhead posted:

http://sportsarefree.xyz/nfltv

It was great last night, and all the repeat games today. Plus it has HBO and a range of ~20 other stations.

My Direct TV contract ends in 3 weeks...just long enough for the pre-season to fully test this and other possible streams!

NOW, I have to figure out how to tie 5 TVs to a central DVR device or something.

Any ideas or places to go to learn?

They have the best product on the market, bar none.

Unlimited On Demand of any channel for years. Uncompressed signal and sound. 4K quality.

You're dead wrong.

Yet you're concerned with them going down if not for NFLST? That seems...contradictory.

Yup. Talk of dissolving the entire platform is dumb. Sunday Ticket should find a new home however.

I meant from the start.

Without Sunday Ticket, which DTV started back in the 90's.

It was a way to build their brand.

While I don't disagree, it'll cost the new provider at least $1 billion per year.

Amazon, maybe?

Unless Direct TV, once again, outbids them all for the rights.

Amazon is paying the NFL $50 million this year just to simulcast the CBS Thursday Night games to Prime customers, which on the surface, doesn't make sense.

That said, I think they're testing out the viability of streaming 12-16 games each Sunday, although I haven't confirmed it with my Amazon peeps.

I dropped Sunday ticket the day Herm Edwards was hired and never looked back... So thankfully I missed the dark ages for the most part.

I use NFL mobile on my phone. It works best for me as I do travel a lot on Sundays and I dont always get to catch the games live.

Plus when its a beautiful Sunday, I can hit the golf course with my son and listen to the game live while playing 18.

I do get most of the games here in OKC so its really not that bad. I dont play FF anymore and rarely watch other games unless they are AFCW head to head match ups.

reddit is awesome, if you are a baseball fan, /r/baseball is one of the best reddits out there. I visit the Chiefs/Lakers/Dodgers reddits as well. The communities for the most part there are awesome. I used to despise reddit, but its grown on me, everything is on reddit.

This has to be the only reason they want to try out dogshit Thursday night games.

No doubt they make a play for some sort of NFL streaming service after DTV contract runs out. What year is that happening?

Take over the world Amazon! Let me have it!!!

The current CBA and TV contracts end after the 2021 season.

2022 would be the earliest that Sunday Ticket would move from DTV.
