Possibly getting married, what do I need to know about a prenup
No kids, only have cat, but have multiple properties and liquid assets. Plan on filing separately even if get married. What do I need to know?

It sounds like you don't want to get married. That reason alone is why you shouldn't. Take my advice, don't do it unless you are all in. ANY hesitation is cause for alarm.

Yeah I know it's a bad reason, but in real life it's not as easy. Most guys I know don't actually want to get married, they do it so they can make their significant other happy. That is one of the reasons I want to do it because it would make her so happy, and I wouldn't really be opposed to it if I had a prenup and kept most of the finances separate. I even told her the 1st week I was with her I am never planning to get married. Warned her ever. Apparently she didn't believe me

Do you live together? And you think in the long run she will be happy marrying someone who "wouldn't really be opposed to it?" That is not a lot of conviction. If she doesn't know yet you are considering a prenup I imagine finding that out (in conjunction with your statements and lack of excitement) will lead her to the conclusion there is a good chance it is a temporary marriage regardless of what she wants.

If you think you need a prenup because "you might get divorced" then you shouldn't get married. I've seen too many of my friends in their younger days have "starter marriages." Wait until you're 100% sure you have the right girl.
