Framegate: NFL Says It Didn't Keep Data on Ball Deflation

Somehow, I have this very strange notion that if the NFL's data actually supported their position, they would be producing it. Instead, the NFL completely reversed course on what they said they were doing and now says they didn't keep any of the data.

http://sports.yahoo.com/news/nfl-s-m...025852568.html

August 2015: we specifically demand this data.

February 2016: no, no, we never wanted the data, why would we?

In this particular case, the league made up the rules as they went along.

Around this time last year, deflated footballs seemed to be of the utmost importance to Goodell and the NFL. Now, it seems the league has changed its tune.

“The league made a huge deal out of the Patriots’ footballs, but then this year I think it probably got a little bit more educated on the topic, more educated than it was at that particular time,” Schefter said. “I think that reflected that it was more along the lines of what people in New England thought and not along the lines of what people across the rest of the league might have thought.”

I wouldn't care about all this, except for the fact that the Patriots were docked a first round pick and had their names dragged through the mud, but now all the unbiased scientists support the Patriots, and the NFL is burying the data that could have verified their claims. Of course they are -- it would prove their case was bullshit all along.

Just like the spygate tapes the league destroyed. Remove any evidence that could later be used to question the league's version of the story.

So those tapes would have exonerated the Pats, and the league destroyed them so they could make one of their most popular franchises look bad, and so they could cast doubt on the legitimacy of of three Super Bowls?

That's not the action of an innocent man. Innocent men don't destroy evidence. Not if they have been wrongly accused and they want to clear their name. They just don't.
The phone is irrelevant. The NFL investigators were never going to get his phone.

The NFLPA would have filed suit against the NFL had they "forced" him to turn over private property.

That was and will never be on the table for any NFL player.

The NFL never asked for Brady's phone.

The NFL said that Brady could give his phone to his own lawyer. Brady's lawyer would then be trusted by the NFL to give any pertinent information about the case to the league.

people keep going on this endless road of excuses

Brady lied and cheated, you don't have to go any further than the equipment manager to see that. The nickname and the denial of Brady to know his name and the logic that no equipment manager would modify a football in any way without their QB's order/approval.

Instead the NFL was ignorant and had to find alternate means to try and get information. The NFL failed, and failed miserably, not Tom Brady. The IGL is absolutely, 100% correct in this case and has been proven repeatedly on test balls.

You're jumping to conclusions.

And if you don't think that every single item on Brady's phone wouldn't end up on the Internet, then I guess you've never visited the Internet.

If Brady "cheated", which there is zero evidence other than innuendo, know one would be able tell by his performance on the field, which should be the true indicator.

If there was any conclusive date that Brady cheated, it would have been published by the NFL the day after the AFC Championship game.

It wasn't and it was "shelved", so...
