I never forget about Gambit. He has much more interesting storylines in the comics than when he was a horseman. Hell I could watch an hour and a half movie of him chucking kinetic energy cards, hitting on rogue and jabbin back and forth with Wolverine.
Gambit and Venom are my two favorite comic book characters. |

It was an okay trailer.
I do find it funny how similar comic book plots are. The villain always wants to destroy the world for some reason or another and create a "better" one in its place. All the major hero movies have done it pretty much. Posted via Mobile Device |

Wait, Mystique is now not only an X-Man, but seemingly their leader? How did we get there?
Wolverine being absent from this film isn't going to do it any favors. |

I think this movie is going to be bad, but not because it is missing Wolverine. They were good when they came out, but they do not hold up. |

They gotta put her in a position where they can kill her off, since this is JL's last rodeo.

Just not very excited about this. Cant put my finger on it?
I thought the last one was ok, but nothing great, but im glad they essentially rebooted the timeline.

I enjoyed the last two X-Men films but this looks terrible.

Matthew Vaughns XMen was great.
Bryan Singer has become very blah.

Their best efforts there clearly came in First Class, IMO and its no coincidence that First Class was the best of the series. This just looks like a really expensive Saturday morning cartoon. Very much conventional superhero fare and nothing terribly compelling about the characters themselves. And yeah, Jennifer Lawrence/mystique as the lead seems odd.

I personally believe the only part that was bad with the first three movies was Cyclops and Rogue. Both were bland versions of their comic book couterparts and lended almost no weight to the overall team outside of getting captured and used as pawns of the villain. Cyclops then gets obliterated in the first ten minutes and Rogue battles with the cure and both become jokes in the third movie. Instead of the Phoenix/Cure/Brett Ratner directing debacle in the third movie they should've just gone with Mr. Sinister to finally give Cyclops a decent story ark and make him look as powerful as he should be.
