Good article Breakdown of Chiefs Offense Problems

Sorry if repost. This article may already be located deep in some other thread.
I think it deserves it's own thread though. And since I am awesome, you are going to let it slide. Discuss more Alex Smith/ Andy Reid/ and OL hate here.

That's not what the face was for. It was for the last part. I'm pretty sure a majority of the people here already knew that.

Those probably stem back to throwing a gazillion INT's his first many seasons.

I don't have any worries about him, if the OL and WR situation improves. It's foolish for people to think he was brought in to carry a shit team. He was brought in to bring "B grade" quarterback play (which is what grade of QB he currently is) to a good team that needed that. Reid and Dorsey just grossly overestimated the talent of the team.. or their ability to coach the unproven players up... plus the key injuries that mounted up.

Alex is no savior... and at least for now.. isn't paid to be.

Stop with that ****ing disingenuous bullshit, you flip flopping, wishy washy "fan" mother****er.

He just signed a ****ing $68 million dollar extension. I don't give a shit if his cap hit is only $4.6 mil this year. He's already been granted a contract that will average $17 mil per year over the next handful of years.

Savior or not, that should buy you pretty good QB play. We're not getting that.

Our offense is clearly a mess, but our defense also does not create turnovers either. If it did we could probably be in the division lead.

Right, but the guy who wrote the article does think those things will fix the issue. So in that sense it isn't really a good article for explaining that Smith is part of the problem.

Despite everything he wrote and all of his pictures, he still tried to justify Smith and said Smith will take more shots with better receivers and offensive line play. That is exactly what Smith defenders love to claim and this guy obviously is a huge one.

The photos suggest one thing, but the article suggest something completely opposite. How anyone can look at those photos and say Smith just needs more help is mind boggling.

Think about what you just said. To a fan, all that should matter is.. how much is this player currently making against my team's cap, and what does he bring to the team for it? 4.6 mil against this yr's cap is nothing to bristle over.

Alex... a "B" player at the most important position.. is reduced to a C or D player thanks to a bottom 5 OL. All "B" quarterbacks would be reduced to that or worse behind a bottom 3 OL.

You know what I say is true. No need to be all butt-hurt hostile over it.

Not only is he not a savior, he isn't even a passable field general. This last game showed that he can't manage a clock and doesn't understand situations. Reminded me of the game vs NE where he had the ball at their 14 with a minute and change and wasted half the time staring cluelessly at the sideline waiting for a play right after a timeout. No excuse for a seasoned qb. I can't think of too many guys who would have butchered a hurry up offense that badly.

The only reason he's only counting $4.6 million against the cap is due to our cap gurus. It doesn't mean he isn't getting paid more. Remind me how many millions the guy got paid up front for signing the dotted line..

He counts for 16 million next year and 18 million the following year.

Iirc if he is on the roster in March 2015, those salaries become guaranteed.

Yeah, I agree. The main thing I liked about the "article" was the pictures and breakdown of plays that are left open for interpretation.

Whatever the authors opinion is on Alex Smith has ZERO sway in what my opinion is. If someone comes out of this article defending Alex Smith, then more power to them. I wish them plenty of patience while they fork out the next 3-4 years watching good QB's win superbowls, and the Chiefs at 8-8.

Russell Wilson won it last year, and he's just another "B grade" quarterback. Difference was.. he had THE best defense.. a top 5 rush attack.. and a middle of the pack OL to help him.
