I find him funny. I'm not that worried about PT I've always been a fast healer and I want to push to get healthy quickly. It's the first 2 months that have me most concerned.

Make sure you keep asking questions about your rehab regimen, especially after he's been in there and seen it. Ask what to do, how much you should do it, if there should be any limits on how much you do the exercises, under what circumstances to stop, what you should look out for and contact him again, etc. When/if you do imaging later on, make sure to re-ask those questions based on what they saw.

They will likely refer you for PT as well, depending on what's covered you may see an actual physical therapist and/or an extender after that. If no one suggests this, ask. Those are really helpful. If visits with a licensed therapist are available to you, don't pass them up. If you would have to pay out of pocket, you can call and ask for a cash discount.

I don't think I'll get another MRI because he's fixing it with an anchor.

Titanium suture anchors, so it separated from the bone at the top? You're a tough bastard to haul yourself back to the car after that.

I wouldn't think you'd need more scans unless you had complication, but you never know. When they have more information, it's always good to ask those things.

*edit, you could always ask if less expensive tests are an option. There's no harm in asking.

It is your right as a patient to participate in your pain management. If you are uncomfortable then don't be shy about asking for something.

It might be cold comfort at this stage, but you did avoid the worst, which would be a rupture down in the muscle.

I know. But think about all the people around you who have made it through surgery. Football players have surgery all the time. We probably have hundreds of CP members who have had surgery. If they can do it, you can. When you get through it, you'll realize that it wasn't really that bad. Promise.
