Truth be told, I don't think any law should be drafted to stop the ads. Its more along the lines I just think the democratic and republican party's should be more responsible, and agree to stop this campaign spending arms race. I know it will never happen. Can't stop it, unfortunately. Hopefully a third party candidate who actually cares about the people, not their own political affiliation & career will come along and change things.

I will tell you this. Being in advertising that regular advertising is one of the most regulated industries, but political advertising is not. I'd read about some outrageous things being done such as people calling in when there were pay phones filling it with quarters to call into a program making it look like real people were calling or supporting the person. That sort of thing can be stopped. It is fraud. Politicians just don't want to outlaw such actions. They make themselves exempt from many other laws even while in office too.
