Sucks too because I would love to see one game in person. There is no way I can justify those prices. Same with the Chiefs if they ever make it to a Superbowl. As much as I would want to witness it in person there is no way I will pay the ungodly prices they will be charging for that.

Ticket prices have gone down $200-$300 in one day. The amount of available tickets has gone up by around 1,500, too. (Stubhub)

That article is pretty much bullshit.
I sat in sec 111 for game 3 of the ALCS. There aren't tickets available in sec 108 for 650$ on seat geek. That's down 700$ from Thursday. |

If I could get SRO in SF for $100 I'd do it. Problem is that I can't do it on short notice because I am a 6 hour drive from SF, and I'm car-inhibited right now so I might even have to take the train or find a lift.
Probably not happening, if the drop only happens right before the game. Unless I just went up there, hung around the stadium, and waited. Or I buy a kayak, paint Hootie's face on it, and wait for Aoki to splash one. |

The get-in price for game 2 is now below $400. Seats now start at $440
1/7 of all game 2 tickets are now on stubhub.

It looks like prices are down about 50% or so from yesterday.

On Royals tix, even the regular season tix, there is a season ticket holder face value. That is the lowest face value you will see. "Face value" for the lower part of the upper level between the bases (HyVee box) is $150. But with single-game seats through the box office the "face value" is set by demand. They call it "Dynamic Pricing" and the price can change throughout the day. Those same $150 seats through the box office (if those seats were actually available) have a "face value" of $300+ I believe. |

You are wrong. The teams consult with MLB to get an idea on what the market may bear, but they set their own prices. Last year people complained about the high price of playoff tickets, and this year the Royals basically apologized and set them at a lower price.

This season, the Royals acknowledged that last year the prices were too high and they would lower them for the 2014 playoffs.

Is there any chance that they'll release more tickets? I'm probably going back to KC for games 1 and 2, and there is just no way I can buy them on the secondary market. Timing and circumstances make that impossible.
