I haven't seen this yet, probably will at some point. But at this point I'd rather Vin Diesel work on the next Riddick flick than the next Furious, even though I know that just by how much money Furious7 made that a sequel will be demanded sooner rather than later.

This was by far and away the most ridiculous movie I've ever seen...or close to it.
I understand it's a popcorn franchise flick. But it was poorly put together IMO...VERY cheesy one-liners from most of the main cast and horrible acting esp from Michelle Rodriguez. I understand some things had to be re-done, re-written due to Paul Walker's death etc, but I'm not sure how much of that resulted in the overall cheesiness and suckage that was this movie. I mean car jumping from skyscraper to skyscraper and somehow coming out of that alive . Hobbs flexing, busting out of his cast? . Guess I've just grown up. Maybe a 16 yr old would think this movie kicks ass. I just thought it was silly as hell. I mean, I remember driving home from the first F&F movie when I was 16-17 yrs old and flyin down roads 30-40mph over the limit jammin out to some Rob Zombie. I remember speed traps being set up over the weekends because like myself, this movie was making 16 yr olds drive like maniacs all over town. I remember some people saying that many weekends Noland Rd became a qtr mile track around the time of that movie's release. Anyways...this movie was silly...but it could be just because it's a popcorn flick for a teenager. I'll see almost anything w/ The Rock in it, which is primarily why I went and saw it. Came out disappointed.

Wonder if this will make my new car more valuable? It's featured in the movie and there may only be 1000 built. World wide demand?

I had no clue my car was in the movie when I ordered the car. No idea that there would be so few made. Don't believe me? Theres a 5000 post thread of me deciding on which car to buy. So **** off pal.

I saw it yesterday and enjoyed it. Sure, it's a live-action cartoon, but it's well done and a lot of fun, and the actors and crew obviously cared a lot about it. The Paul Walker tribute at the end was touching.
The AV Club has an interesting overview of the franchies. Comparing it to The Expendables highlights how much better this franchise handles the same kind of ensemble cast, tone, and material. I wouldn't be surprised, the first one made my 93 RX-7 more valuable. It was red just like the one Vin Diesel won the drag race with, and the film basically doubled its price overnight. I ended up selling it to a high school kid who may have only heard of it from the movies.

Saw it Saturday with some friends. I usually wait for the DVD on F&F but my friend had free tix. I didn't feel it was any more cheesy or ridiculous than some of the previous movies. I mean, think about it. F&F 5 had them pulling a bank vault through city streets hooked up cars. They are cheesy and full of ridiculous, physics be damned, stunts that nobody truly gets hurt doing. You just have to turn off your brain and enjoy it for what it is......entertainment.

I was about ready to come on here and roast the shit out of this movie.. But then that ending. If I were made of softer stuff it just might have gotten a tear out of a playa.
"Daddy's gotta go to work" *flexes and busts out of his cast* YOU CAN'T HATE THAT PART. YOU JUST CAN'T. Oh, and Nathalie Emmanuel When she came up out that water. Your boy went from 6 to midnight real quick. Real ****ing quick. Also, I had no idea that this gif was her: |
