READ THIS INFO:
Pay attention to the earlier post on Vicodin. The 7.5's have 750mg of Acetaminophen. You cannot take more than 1000mg of acetaminophin every 6 hours or your liver will have damage...no kidding. Taking 3 of these means you have taken 2250 mg of it at one time. Anymore than 4 grams in 24 hours and you are asking for serious trouble. It doesn't take much over the 4 grams in 24 hours (4000mg) to damage most peoples livers. Add some alcohol on top of that and it is even worse. I used to sell pain medications and ER doc's will tell you how many patients come into the ER with liver failure because they ingest too many med's that they don't realize have acetaminophen in them at the same time.

I can't believe we still can't make a good pain pill.
Hydrocodone with acetaminophen does nothing for me either. Just makes you feel like your on strong cough medicine. Numb but it's no good. what about this chart Mike? http://www.vaughns-1-pagers.com/medi...comparison.htm |

Ask your doc for "Tramadol" It is not a "Class 2" narcotic and works much better for me. I've got some pretty bad arthritis in my feet. Not good for a retired workaholic. "Tram" really helps me make it through the day. |

CPhT. Most of my mentors in the Army was the driving force behind creating CPhT. I was grandfathered in because I had taken the tests before CPhT existed. I've worked as CPhT for 12 yrs in the Army and 12+ years as DOD civilian for the Army.

I sometimes get pain in my lower back and my doctor prescribes Flexeril. I get the generic version for $4 for 30 pills at Walmart. There is no high, but the pain goes away. It also will make you a bit drowsy.
A few years ago I had severe carpal tunnel syndrome in both hands and took oxycodin for a few weeks until I had surgery. I found oxy worked great the first week and then I sort of became immune, it would no longer effect me after that. |

Only had them 2-3 times & they didnt seem to help at all.
Oxycontin on the other hand...i was given two 3-4 years ago while having a bad day at work...its easy for me to see how Favre, Limbaugh etc. got hooked on them...floating around on air, quite high, but every thought was crystal clear, no stumbly stuff, i didnt feel at all 'drugged'. It passed easily in a professional environment & actually helped my work attitude. |

Word to the wise - long term vicodin use? Buy some OTC stool softeners. Or you'll be like the accountant with a broken calculator...you'll have to sit down and work things out with a pencil.
