Someone ****ing other than me: "Yes, the science was piss poor, but the whole point of the movie was FAITH. It sucked you in to teach you about FAITH." Me: "Love alien stuff. Love Sci-fi stuff. And right after 9/11 this was the perfect time to make this movie. Sucked me in. Completely. I was that guy in the closet watching TV. BUT ****ING WATER? REALLY? ****ING SERIOUSLY? You ****ing point out in the movie that some people in the middle east found out how to beat them first. You pointed out before that they moved to areas AWAY FROM WATER. SO IT HAS TO BE FRESH WATER THAT KILLS THEM. THE EXACT SAME $3IT IN CORN FIELDS 3 HOURS AFTER SUNSET! I'm out. Done. I know...it's still a good movie in the way.....just.....****ing away with you..."

How would you explain that its a BAD idea? It's pretty obvious they use two pilots for operational redundancy/reliability, and even say in one of the trailers the two pilots are linked 'neurally' thus acting as one.

They take the time to point out it's a brain/spinal link and then point out TWO ****ing people steer the damned thing. Ok, no. You're right. You're right. Next time you go for groceries have your wife/gf/bf steer and you work the pedals. IT DOESN'T ****ING WORK!1!

Some of that stuff could be done with hydraulics. Virtually everything on the sprayer and combine is done with hydraulics. But yeah, the response rate of the pump to do quick motions would have to be other worldly. Not to mention risk exposure of having the hydraulic hoses exposed to maintain range of motion. I'm as big of a sci-fi nut as the next guy, but this movie does very little for me. |

"2,500 tons of awesomeness"
Yet, it lifts a Oil Tanker (50,000-500,000 tons) which it's size is way out of proportion compared to the surrounding buildings and one of it's foes is about 75% as long as a Nimitz Class Aircraft Carrier (100,000 tons). (I must shut off brain and enjoy movie) |

As a fan of all things daikaiju eiga I cannot wait to see this movie. Also, considering the Legendary Pictures is doing the Godzilla re-boot next year I want to see how the CGI effects are done in thei film, and how well they are done.

They need a love story, that is why there are two pilots.

If it's necessary for redundancy, then why would a neural link be necessary? They could have redundancy without a neural link.
What happens when they have to piss?

I'm guessing so the transition from primary to backup would happen instantly without any delay. They are neurally linked so the backup is in constant sync, kind of how redundant CPU processors work with bridge technology.

Listen nerds, it's a goddamned giant monster vs. giant supermech Guillermo del Toro movie. Who gives a shit about the amount of reality you're going to need to suspend to watch this geekporn. Shut up with the technobabble and fap furiously to the trailers already.
