Would Arrowhead's Toys in the Attic sell today?

Was bored when I got home and wanted to listen to some music. So I was perusing and saw Arrowsmith's Toys in the Attic amonst the multitudes of CD's. It's been a long time since I listened to this particular album. But I think it still holds up. Yeah it's Bronco week. **** off. Just wondering.Remember I was bored. And maybe feeling a little old.

Fair enough. They can come back to it and to be honest there's a hell of a lot worse things they can be listening to than Earl Sweatshirt.

It isn't bad. I'm just surprised. When I was a kid, playing or at least listening to rock guitar mattered. I had that pegged as something that never loses its popularity. Not popularity, but essentiality to the making of music.

Apparently, you know absolutely nothing about the music business.

You have no idea how the business is run, how the paradigm has changed dramatically, not only in the past 5 years but the past ten or 15 years.

I'm not insulting you because I don't expect someone that doesn't work in the business to know how it works and changes (and sometimes, on a daily basis) but you're not speaking from a position of strength.

This is actually extremely insulting. "Talented"? What's the definition of "talented"?

Is it guys like Chris Lord-Alge, who mix nearly every hit rock record? Is it guys like Dr. Luke, who composes and produces hit songs from Katy Perry to Brittany Spears and beyond? Is it Dr. Dre, who founded a rap group, label and more?

The definition of "talent" is those that succeed in the music business, whether you agree or not. People these days that earn in excess of $100k a year are "talented". People making trailer music are "talented". People scoring films and TV show are "talented". People creating music each week for shows like Pawn Stars and Duck Dynasty and every other cable and network reality show are "talented".

Most people with "talent" are no longer willing to pack up their shit in a van and play for $200 dollars a night when they can sit at home and earn $200 dollars for a cue on a network TV show or $10k from a 10 second trailer clip.

Well I guess from your point of view I guess not. But I'm trying to speak from a point of my heart. Apartently that't not coming back according to you. But what I do say is don't underestimate talent when it becomes apparent. When a great band throws itself at your feet don't turn your cheek.

Today? In 2015? Absolutely.

Do you know anything about the Black Crowes, at all? How they derailed their own career?

Dude, no offense, but you seem live in a fantasy world of days gone by when people had posters on their wall and worshiped music.

"Great" is subjective.

I think that people in this industry do a pretty good job of realizing when a band is "great" or when a band is not "great".

There are always a few misses but for the most part, people that earn their living by listening to music, then put their asses and career livelihood on the line by actually giving them money to do their thing, do a pretty good job.

If you're not connecting with the current crop of bands and artists, which is completely understandable, you'll always have the bands from the past in which you do.

And for the record, I'm not necessarily disagreeing with you in terms of past music, but everything is always in motion.

Im not talking on the quality of the album but of the potential of the band if it was presented to you at this moment in time.
