That's right. Peters does not owe anybody any phony bullshit. He holds a job that many sought and that he's among the very best at. If the Chiefs are any good, they will prove it. Peters enjoying his life is more likely to be good for the Chiefs than for him to be miserable for no ****ing reason.

I could care less what Peters does off the field as long as he stays out of trouble. I could also care less if he wants to take a shit while the anthem is playing. I also don’t care about his sideline tantrums. On the field is all I care about...and he is one of the most frustrating players I’ve watched in a LONG time. Other posters have brought this up, but he REFUSES to tackle anyone. He hardly makes an attempt other than a quick swat at the ball. Not certain why KC’s coaches are putting up with the lack of effort. In coverage, he has lapses that drive me crazy...playing way off the receiver on 3rd and 5 giving way too much cushion time and time again. And his PI calls are generally because he panics when the ball is in the air. The long one last night? No reason to wrap the receiver around the head!! It was going to be a difficult grab either way.

He’s a lot of risk vs reward. If he can’t consistently create turnovers, he’s not worth a shit. I’ll take consistency everyday over the peaks and valleys of Marcus Peters.

Agreed. I noticed that after "Free Agency" came about, things changed dramatically. Used to be that teams and their players were "one". Hell, pick a team. In the NFL, say from 1955 through the middle to late 80s, most players stuck with a team and that "team" for the most part - took care of the players. Now? It's little more than a job. That's not to say that some of the players don't mean a lot to a community - they do.

Granted, as the pay went up, so did the idea of "I don't care what the name on the uniform is, I play for the name on the BACK of the Jersey". I get it, I truly do. But what made the NFL great in the beginning is that the players and the Team - they REPRESENTED the city that they were from.

When I played High School and College ball - that "Shaking hands" crap didn't exist. We didn't like the other team and they didn't like us. It was personal, always. Now? They hug each other after games because they well know that at some point - they might be playing for that team.

Why the **** would anyone think that?

This is the stupidest thread I've read in a long time.

Seriously people, players have lives outside the field. Sports isn't a contract to live their life according to the expectations of a bunch of crazed redneck fanatics who think they should spend any and every waking moment working out, studying tape, and refusing to talk to anyone who isn't a fan of their team.

Anyone else see Hunt signing his jersey for #90 on the Fade? Right after a heartbreaker at the middle of the field.

This is a division game, do that stuff out of sight.

For the record I don't like Peters either. Hot head ball hawker.

He can do whatever the hell he wants. Kid has more rush yards than Denvers whole team (yes, even entering week 7)

kinda like the 1994 MNF showdown game when the Chiefs won and Denver players were giving footballs to Montana to autograph during postgame while Joe was talking to Elway midfield?
