Grew up with the movies and OS. Teen years brought me TNG which I loved. Then DS9 which went through college. Voyager was okay. Never what it should have been. Then Enterprise was cancelled right when the production really started to click. The final season of that show may have been the finest season in all of Trek. But as a series, DS9 was and is it for me. |

DS9 was the one were they didn't go anywhere, right? I watched a few and then stopped.

Yeah, they shifted gears significantly after season 1.
All the Bajoran mystic mumbo jumbo in the pilot and early on was my least favorite part of the show. Glad I kept watching... |

I may have to catch DS9 on Netflix. I saw a few early on and quit it.

DS9's Quark was one of my favorite characters. Would love a Star Trek spinoff of a Ferengi like Quark in a small freighter traveling the galaxy looking to cheat his way to profit.

All this brings up a question....
Is there any chance ever of getting a series on tv of the old universe going forward? I know Michael Dorn almost hit paydirt with his Captain Worf idea, but is there any chance of Star Trek on TV again? (And yeah I know CBS is doing that bullshit streaming deal, but I had it in my head that storyline would be from the rebooted universe?) There could be continuing stories with Geordi, Riker, Worf, Sisko..... |

Pretty sure it's been too long. Would love a new series even without any returning cast members though.
Looking forward to Axanar though. Will definitely see this before watching F&F In Space.

I'll reserve judgement for a better trailer. This was one shitty cut along with music that had no business in the trailer.

I love Simon Pegg. He looks awfully pained in this. I get the impression that he is struggling with telling the truth about how much this movie will suck and toeing the company line. If he really did believe the movie was good, I would expect a more confident response.

Me too, but at the end of the question he seems to get awfully choked up which worries me. Hopefully the backlash on this trailer convinces them to do a better job on the next trailer, and shows us that this really is a Star Trek movie.
