What's the worst job you ever had?

Mine was hauling small square bales of hay. It is hot, often over 100 degrees in the barn. You have to wear a long sleeved shirt or your arms will get bloodied. And it is damn hard work. Bales of alfalfa can weigh up to 90 pounds. No way I could do it today.

Loading trucks at EFD (Every Frickin Day we called it). Weight limit was 100 lbs and I weighed 125. Lots of car parts and awkward packages. 1st day on the job, I slice my hand open on a fender. 2nd day on the job I dropped an axle on my big toe. To this day my toenail looks alien. They had rollers to push the boxes on and I remember one cold January day where my drawstring from my hoodie got caught and thought I would be decapitated. lol.

Didn't quit though. Stayed there for 2 years and made it to the sort aisle making 20% more than the other guys. Since I didn't go to the military, I would consider it my boot camp. Better off for it today.

I worked two years on the live dock at Hudson foods when I was in and right after High School. Trucks of Turkeys would show up and our job was to take them from their cages and hang them by the feet in metal shackles. There is nothing like being outside at 4am covered in turkey piss and shit when its 15 degrees. Most of my co-workers were on the work release program from OCC in Fordland. That job sucked.

It's to control pollination. The tassels contain the pollen. Most farmers plant cheap normal strains of corn and put a row or two of really good high production strains of corn in the midst of all the normal strains of corn. You detassel the cheap normal corn plants so that the cheap strain of corn doesn't pollinate itself. You want the pollen to only come from the few rows of expensive high production strain of corn, and pollinate all the other varieties for a hybrid of much better yield.

When I was deployed to Kuwait I burnt 50 gallon drums (cut in half) filled with the shit and piss of 1500 pissed off tankers by mixing in diesel fuel and stirring with a metal fence picket. That was nasty.

Calling construction company owners and asking them their race. It was before I had my own company and I was assigned by my ex-boss to some bogus project to justify an affirmative action program.

"Hi, this is Rain Man. I'm calling from Psychotic Consulting. May I speak to the owner of your asphalt paving firm?"

"Please hold."
