CFB National Signing Day Thread

How is your team gonna do?

Here's an advance copy of the shifty eyed fan blaming excuse making fact challenged fatass conman in pleated pants and a tie's gutless press remarks for KCChiefsFan88 and OmahaChief. I went Back to the Future to get it.

Tim, were excited about those kids that want to be Miami Hurricanes. I think that's the salient point here. Everyone wants to talk about the kids we didn't get and no one wants to talk about this kid because he's been committed for awhile and hasn't played the drama game, but look at Mark Walton. He had 273 yards in the state title game. Look at Dexter Williams, that's an electric player, Reggie Bush type. That's what I'm focused on.

To be honest Susan this is more about, on a macro level, creating culture than anything else. We want responsible classy, dependable kids hat want to be Miami Hurricanes. We've got an All American in Jaquan Johnson who enrolled early. He didn't play the hat game. He came in, got into the weight room and got to work. Same thing with Charles Perry. He's been here three weeksand he's already 210 from 202. Jamie Gordinier...235 pounds as a true freshman. It's about getting kids that are committed and are ready willing and able to get in here and start competing, start lifting, start getting bigger and stronger. This is big time college ball, you gotta get strong. Look at a kid like Michael Jackson. He was in SEC country. He dominated the camp. So Manny, when you ask me to sum up what this class is all about- it's about skills, not stars. Skills, not stars. That's what I tell our kids. And if you look at our history, that's how it plays out. Dan Morgan....two star FB. Ed Reed, 2 star from Louisiana. People don't get excited about the Hayden Mahoneys, but I can promise you, that kid will lean on you. For four quarters. He's a difference maker. So we are about skills not stars or ratings, here. You want to talk about big gets, look no further than Lawrence Cager. We took him from Alabama and Nick Saban. It's about hard work and convincing kids we can take care of them for their future. This kid was an All American. And he turned down Alabama for the University of Miami. It's about making the evaluations and putting in the work.

We put in the work and we get the results. Bar Milo....again, this is a kid that can play the way we want. Were developing a California pipeline, here. Our staff has really established a reputation there that we are quite frankly a power to be reckoned with. We had a couple kids that we really made SC sweat about in their backyard. We pushed USC to the limit at Serra for those kids. I can promise you that staff isn't looking forward to tangling with us next year. So you can see the progress there. Were building a base, Tim. It's about establishing a foundation, if you will. Same thing with a kid like Scott Patchan. You guys aren't slobbering over him because he missed his senior year with an ACL, but I can tell you the Alabama's, thr Ohio States, the Florida States all wanted this kid. This is a family who sent their other son elsewhere but we were able to, quite frankly, get them back to the University of Miami. We got them to believe in the school and the football program again Tim and so we will have the pleasure of coaching their son up. I'm happy with what we've done. Now has it been easy? Gosh darnit no. It hadn't been easy. It hasn't been peaches and cream, so ofcourse we aren't going to get every 5 star on the planet. My job changed on August 15th, 2011. We didn't ask for it, but we dealt with it and have moved past it. Just like we are blocking out the noise and moving beyond negativity. I've got to be honest with you here, a lot of Kidd are turned off to the negativity they see on message forums and and banners and such. We've got some wonderful fans here but there's always, and I think this is a truism in life, a shrill minority which has a tendency to hurt things for the rest of the folks. That doesn't make it easy to sell a kid on Miami, but we were able to overcome that. It's really about hard work and that's what this class represents. So I'm happy that we are building a strong base, not just now but for many years to come.

If I'm seeing it right, the best prospect they have listed from oklahoma, left his hometown to go play for their instate rival.

Oh, good lord. Okay. How about this:

Mizzou got the #1 player in Illinois and Kansas according to all major recruiting services. Mizzou got the #1 player in Missouri according to MOST major recruiting services.

That better?

Of course it's not good enough. These clowns will obviously stop at nothing to try to devalue Missouri's accomplishments today.

I don't really get why MU fans are all hung up on where instate people go to college.

When I was in high school I couldn't wait to go see the country/world.

It doesn't surprise me people would want to leave Missouri. The list of football and basketball players who have left is too long to get into tonight but one would think that MU fans would act with a little more class in this situation.

Considering all they've been through.

It's fine. Whatever. Pinkel and his coaching staff have already proven over their tenure many times that they don't need a top tier class to be successful.

The fact that they landed one of their best classes today in his tenure gives them that much more to work with going forward.

Mizzou will keep racking up the double digit wins seasons in the best conference in college football and the haters will keep on hating.

The situation mu is in in regards to instate recruiting and lack of another major college in the state, in order to get to that next level they need to do a better job of keeping good to great talent in state.

That's where said mu fans are coming from.

They seem to be doing a better job at that now, with the move to the sec and the success there. Obviously, they aren't Alabama and never will be

The Big 12 roots for Mizzou. That's what you guys don't get. Clay Travis and Paul Finebaum think you're a joke. And unfortunately you're never going to break that.

Clay Travis will always say Tennessee is better and TJ Carpenter will always say Arkansas is better.

Even if you win they still won't admit that. Sucks

Self thought he had Embiid for at least 2 years. Had no interest in Cauley Stein.

Should he have offered him when he had the chance? Maybe... But Self has earned the right to be trusted. WCS is just another big in my eyes.

Of course thats how you feel it fits your agenda.

Perhaps the same thing occurred with MU and ofodile?

And sometimes people are wrong.

Like when you and Bitch try to compare Kansas football to Mizzou football on equal footing because of one fluke BCS appearance (thank you, Lew), completely ignoring the direction said programs have taken since that fateful 2007 season.

So, again, sometimes people are just wrong.
