McNabb thinks Cassel can fit in Reid's system
http://www.kansascity.com/2013/02/11...an-fit-in.html Former Philadelphia quarterback Donovan McNabb, now an analyst for NFL Network, believes Matt Cassel can fit in former Eagles coach Andy Reid’s system with the Chiefs. And, said McNabb, Cassel could be the right one to help bring along a young passer in a season in which the draft is lacking in elite quarterbacks worthy of the first pick in the draft. "It's kind of hard to judge,” McNabb said of Cassel on NFL Network’s Total Access. “In the last couple of years, he's had a lot of injuries which have put him off the field and the team hasn't been that good. If you look back at his Pro Bowl year, he was able to spread the ball around, get Dwayne Bowe the ball and he also had an attack in the run game that really helped him out in so many ways. “But if you go back to his injuries, he has rib injuries, his throwing hand, two concussions in the last couple of years. His record since 2009 hasn't been that great...One thing you look at Matt Cassel, is this an opportunity to utilize his experience to bring up a young quarterback? “In this draft, there aren't any quarterbacks that are worthy of going as early as that No. 1 pick. So if you decide to go and wait for the second or third round, you can utilize Matt Cassel to be your guy to warm things up to give that young guy an opportunity to get ready." If I were you, I would claim that the cat trotted across my keyboard and this is the crap that came out. Maybe you spilled coffee on your keyboard and this gibberish was posted to Chiefsplanet. Maybe five star broke into your house as a last ditch effort to rehabilitate his reputation and posted this from your computer. There are thousands of reasonable explanations for this post. The least reasonable explanation is that these are your true thoughts. |

Andy Dalton started as a rookie in the AFCN with an OC from the ****ing arena league and went to the playoffs yet you think that Geno Smith or Tyler Wilson won't be ready to start? Cam Newton, a much rawer prospect who wasn't nearly as developed as a quarterback as either Geno, Tyler, or Wilson was able to start for a much worse Panthers team.

No offense but he's an idiot. I've always been impressed w/ the level of success he's had in spite of the rocks rattling around in between his ears. This is merely further proof.

What part of the cheers when Cassel got hurt did they not understand?
McNabb and whoever dumb****s that pimp Cassel is insulting 100+K Chiefs fans intelligence. It would be a BIG **** you to the fans if Chiefs bring back Matt Cassel. |

It was a stupid line of reasoning...
"Cassel has been injured...when he had A good season, they had Bowe and a solid running game" Hey Donavan, they've had Bowe and a solid running game since the aberration year...and Cassel S U C K E D. FFS, he was benched in favor of Brady Quinn. Brady fucking Quinn.

Former players, whether it's McNabb or Trent Green, or Tom Jackson, can give you insights into games that you not see youself because of the experince they bring.
But they generally are not very good talent evaluators. That's true for active players, as well. Speaking specifically to this post, this is why I believe that Geno will be better in Reid's offense. He is smarter. Combined with his superior accuracy, I believe he will be lights out.
