I would like them to go the opposite direction while giving him a large signing bonus on the front end. Tear up the current 9 year deal of $414M. Give him 10 years and $350M total, with $150M of it paid out as a signing bonus this offseason.

The scenario above gives the team about $10-11M per year in extra salary cap space while finally rewarding Mahomes with a huge bonus. The man has only been paid a total of $79M in 6 seasons while delivering 5 straight home conference title games, 3 conference championships, and 2 Super Bowl trophies for the team/city. All of this has been extremely lucrative to Clark Hunt and the KC economy. Dak Prescott has been paid $126M in the last 3 seasons alone while delivering jack shit to Dallas.

I think the whole point of his deal is they can restructure to move money into a signing bonus whenever they want to move money around. If you have a year with extra cash, pay him a bit more to free it up in upcoming years.
