The "new" Sufjan Stevens EP, All Delighted People.
Can't wait for the Age of Adz to drop in October.

Let me know how they are. I still can't stop listening to Baroness Blue Album... but I'm going to have to get a few more new metal albums soon.

Quote:
The Kamelot album is a disappointment. It is more-or-less as good as their previous album, Ghost Opera. Both of those albums are more atmospheric, darker, with some groove to them, as opposed to Kamelot's previous pure power metal sound. Roy Khan is still the singer, so the album demands a listen just for his Godly singing. Oceansize is 100% a rock band. Progressive rock w/ some post-rock tendencies. I don't have a full read on their new album yet. Too much subtlety to grasp after only one listen. I need to give it a spin with headphones on. |

Been listening to The National lately (when I get into a band... I usually get a few albums from them). I like. I'd listened to The Boxer once before and wasn't impressed. This time around, I'm enjoying them more. The baritone vocals are a little offputting (remind me of Dead Can Dance for some reason), but I'm finally understanding some of the hype on this band.

High Violet is a spectacular album.

Yeah, I couldn't deny the hype finally and had to grab it. It's impressive even if my wife says, "What is this dark, morose shit you're listening to."
The funny thing is that I don't find it to be that dark or morose... though the vocals do lend a melancholy feel. (and yes.. my wife uses words like morose around the house... sadly she pronounces it mo-rose... as in "I need some more pink wine".)

Your last sentence reminds me, my fiancee always talks about how she has a coo-pon for a discount off an item. Coupon is pronounced "Q-pon" in my book.

I'm listening to this High Violet album right now off of ya'll's recommendations. It is boring me and I can't stand the drum sound.

The middle of this album was pretty good. The songs became interesting all of a sudden. "Afraid of Everyone," Lemonworld," "Runaway," and "Conversation 16" were all songs I'd gladly listen to again.
