It would be interesting but it shouldn't distract from the main point.

UAL seated him, then decided after boarding that they were going to pull him from the flight. 46k got pulled from flights in a year. By law, it may not be illegal. But it should not distract from the critical point that the airlines have clearly abused the system and that needs to be fixed. Overbooking and reneging on an obligation to provide paid services is a practice that absolutely needs to be discouraged. I don't want to see UAL pay for this so much as I'd like to see a bold, no bullshit plan to change this practice. I havr a feeling UA will pay a lot to sweep this under the rug, plug some bullshit reforms that don't fix anything, and customers will continue to get screwed

This really hasn't done much to UAL's stock, which is interesting.

Last Friday, their stock closed at 70.88. When the market closed today, after UA took a PR Ballistic Missile in the ass, they closed at 69.07 - about a 2.5% drop.
