How can we improve Chiefs discussion around here?

I've mentioned my disappointment in the quality of discussion in a few threads lately, but figured it's worth a more meta discussion to figure out 1) if I'm alone in this perception and 2) if there's anything that can be done about it.

Back in the old days, I walked 20 miles to school in the snow uphill both ways!

Err...wait. I mean, ChiefsPlanet was THE place where I got my Chiefs news. If an article was worth reading on another site, it was linked here. If there was a tweet with Chiefs news, it was posted here 30 seconds after it hit Twitter. If someone said something worthwhile on the radio, someone would post about it on here. And (with all due respect to those who like megathreads), you could glance at the front page and have a pretty decent idea of what the big news was for the day.

After returning home from the boonies on Sunday morning, however, I honestly had no idea how the game Saturday even went. I ended up visiting Arrowhead Pride and Chiefs Digest just to get a feel for what went down. Am I the weird one for thinking that that sucks?

Anyway, just figured it's worth the discussion. If it turns out that everyone is pretty content the way things are, I'll just bookmark some other resources and move on with life. But if I'm not alone, what can we do to make things better?

The only issue with whining comes in if it's a constant thing... if people start wanting to draw their own lines and we're responding to megathreads about banning decisions, etc.

All that said, I think taking care of the worst offenders could significantly improve things, so I don't want to scream "slippery slope" or anything... I don't think it would take sweeping changes or rule changes, just some focus on the biggest problems.
The best forums I have read were ones that didn't allow trolls to persist. If someone was a thread wrecker or a troll or whatever then they were quickly just banned and forgotten about. Did people whine? Who knows, who cares. You are here at the pleasure of the community. The people who were there with some basic social skills and the respect you'd have if you were all sitting in a bar together were fine. It's not a basic human right to post here.

It's obvious the site is in decline right now, both in quality and in traffic. If common sense action isn't taken then the trolls will PSP this place. People seem to be fine with it I guess.

Again, I bring this up consistently. Nobody ever has a problem with the way MagicHef or Tombstone interact with us, and they talk shit on the Chiefs all the time. It's only with the homer ****shit that you post.

Why do you think that is?
Every Broncos board I've been to has a place for rival fans. The Orange Mane even has a thread for Chiefs fans to post in.

There's alot of hostility (myself included) towards fellow chief fans. We get too pissed at each other.

They don't have Chiefs fan versions of YOU on their boards.

You never interact with us. You never talk about the differences between teams. You never analyze the AFC West. You never talk about plays made in other games.

All you ever post is Donk shit about your undrafted "rising stars" who get washed out of the league in less than a season. And you do it for the sole reason of getting a rise out of us, NOT because you enjoy "talking football." You're not talking football ever. You never engage in conversation like the rest of your Denver fans do.

You're not a human being. You're basically a ****ing bot that advertises Denver sports shit on Chiefs sites.

That's why your thread has to go.

**** that

You are either a productive poster on the bbs or you can get the **** out.

Even if a person is just funny, that's productive
if a person is really TRYING to be productive, i'm good.

but if you just wade into every thread with a machete and destroy it ... goodbye.

It's pretty easy to see after awhile whether a person is trying to contribute or just trying to be an asshole.
This may be where you and I disagree. I walk into every thread trying to be funny. I have the success rate of Alex going deep. Should I stay or should I go now?

The reason winning won't change it, is that there's always a caveat as to why certain wins don't count or are a sham.

I don't think much would change if thr chiefs "win".
